Schild wins slalom, Mielzynski, Routhier score
Marlies Schild of Austria won a women's World Cup night slalom Wednesday for her third victory of the season and 26th overall. She finished in an aggregate time of 1 minute, 42.06 seconds to beat Olympic and world slalom champion Maria Riesch by 0.32, while fellow German Christina Geiger was 0.52 back in third for her first career podium finish. · Canada was led by Erin Mielzynski in 20th, with Eve Routhier scoring points in 23rd.

Swiss coach Rufener out after season
Switzerland's ski federation says men's alpine head coach Martin Rufener will leave the team at the end of the season. · Under Rufener, the Swiss men won their first Olympic alpine gold medals since 1988. Didier Defago won the downhill and Carlo Janka captured the giant slalom at Vancouver in February.

World champs ski slopestyle set for Feb. 3
The fast-paced action sport of slopestyle skiing has been confirmed for the International Ski Federation's Freestyle World Ski Championships being hosted in February by Deer Valley and Park City Mountain Resorts.
