As of today, we are 396 days from the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. The hype is building, and will continue to build non stop for the next 13 months.

If the Olympics were to start today, who would be Canada's best chance for a snowsports gold medal? The Canadian Freestyle team has shown tremendous depth taking home a slew of medals in the early season. The Alpine team has been knocking on the door, but have yet to burst through it. And the cross country skiers have turned a few heads with some hardware of their own.

We are now getting into the heart of the season, with Alpine World Championships just around the corner and stretch of home turf World Cups (and Olympic test events) for the freestyle and cross country. What we see over the next 30 days will be a small peek at what we can expect to see in a year from now.

If the Olympics were to start today, who would be your bet for Canada's best chance at a gold medal?
