We really missed the boat. Way off the mark. Not even close.

Saturday's season-opening WC downhill race was so full of surprises I don't anticipate anybody made accuarate predictions. We certainly didn't.
Mother Nature sent us all a reminder that she has significant influence on the outcome of ski races. Nothing against Italian Peter Fill, who had a superb performance to win his first-ever downhill race, but I have to ask...who is Peter Fill? And silver medallist Carlo Janka from Switzerland? Sweden's bronze medallist Hans Olsson? At least we- and anyone who watched the races on TV, live timing or here in Lake Louise know who they are now.
