Hillel's Annual Phone-A-Thon is Coming! Help St. Louis Hillel raise money for all of our wonderful programs! Need some fast cash? Hillel is now hiring students for Phone-A-Thon shifts. Callers get paid $10/hour (minimum of 4 hours).
Shifts available include: Sunday, October 30th, 12:00-3:00pm Tuesday-Thursday, November 1-3, 5:00-9:00pm

Yiddish Book Center: Steiner Summer Program
The program offers matriculating college students a unique opportunity for a tuition-free, seven-week intensive course in Yiddish language and culture. Beginning and intermediate students will be immersed in language study, and will also study the history, literature, culture and music of the Jews of Central and Eastern Europe.

Civic Engagement Fund (CEF) Grants
The CEF provides support for graduate, professional and undergraduate students for civic engagement and community service projects in the U.S. and abroad. Funding amounts vary up to $500. Grants are available for both individuals and groups.
The deadline is October 7th, 2011 by 5pm.

Jewish Community Relations Council of St. Louis seeks Applicants for the 2011-2012 Academic Year MAZON Hunger Fellow The fellow will work approximately 15 hours per week from mid to late September 2011 through May 2011 and engage in anti-hunger activism in the St. Louis community. The Fellow selected will arrange a specific work schedule with his or her supervisor at the JCRC. A stipend of $3000 will be provided to the Fellow. Tuesday, October 18 - 1:30-3:30pm Join artist Tanya Fredman for a hands-on art workshop, "Renewed like the Moon: Exploring Time in Jewish Texts", at the Brodsky Library. The workshop will combine art making with discussion of Jewish texts, and participants will create their own collages exploring ideas of sacred time in Jewish calendar.
