With the passing of our submission deadline last week, Sukkah City STL is proud to announce that more than 50 entries were submitted from professional design firms and architectural students around the world!

Bear Mitzvah
Thursday, Sept. 22 7-9pm McMillan Cafe Party with us at the 2011 'Bear Mitzvah' - a throwback to the goodness of Bat/Bar celebrations, without the awkward three-feet-in-between us sway...
We'll honor the WashU Bear mascot by partying the night away with jams from a live DJ, old school games and feasting at the dessert bar...without having to worry about Mom rolling up in her minivan at 10:45.

Taglit-Birthright Israel Registration Closing Wednesday at 9am
If you or someone you know is eligible for the Taglit-Birthright Israel trip, this is the last chance to be considered for our Winter 2011 FREE Israel trip, which will depart the last week in December.
Registration for new applicants is closing as of Wednesday at 9:00am...and we recommend eligible applicants sign-up no later than Tuesday night (tomorrow!). As always, new applicants can register on a risk-free basis at www.israeloutdoors.com. Once registration closes, it will be impossible to sign-up late! |

Volunteers Needed this Sunday! 
B'nai Amoona Medical Goods Drive 9am - 2pm
B'nai Amoona will be collecting walkers, canes, wheelchairs, shower stools, etc., for recycling by St. Louis HELP. They will repair and refurbish the items so that people who cannot afford them will be able to use them.
Volunteers are needed to help with writing receipts, loading items onto trucks and donations.
B'nai Amoona is located at 324 S. Mason in Creve Coeur, and students will be carpooling in shifts to the event. If you are interested, contact Zoe Tabachnik or David Hoffman. |

Challah for Hunger Baking
Thurs., Sept. 22 - 4:30-11pm at Hillel
Come all night, or just for a bit, and help bake delicious challah to sell on campus for a cause. Proceeds go to the AJWS Sudan Relief and The Harvey Kornblum St. Louis Jewish Food Pantry. Challah baking happens on Thursdays th  roughout the year.

Hillel's staff offices have moved!
The St. Louis Hillel staff offices have temporarily relocated to the Academy Building on Washington University's campus. Our mailing address will remain 6300 Forsyth Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63105.
If you are walking from Wash U's main campus, we are located just over the Forest Park Parkway/Milbrook Boulevard overpass. If you are driving, the Academy Building is located at 310 Melville Ave., St. Louis, MO 63130.
Renovation project update:
St. Louis Hillel has sold a portion of our property (the addition) to Forsyth School. We have retained ownership of 6300 Forsyth Blvd., which holds the original Hillel "House".
Shabbat and High Holiday events will continue to be held in the Hillel building through Yom Kippur.
On October 11, the Hillel building will close and demolition of the addition will take place over Winter Break.
We are excited to use Washington University's space for our numerous programs and events during the course of our transition and renovation over the next few years.

Civic Engagement Fund (CEF) Grants The CEF provides support for graduate, professional and undergraduate students for civic engagement and community service projects in the U.S. and abroad. Funding amounts vary up to $500. Grants are available for both individuals and groups. The deadline is October 7th, 2011 by 5pm.

Wednesday, September 21 - 1:30pm The Saul Brodsky Jewish Community Library will present a screening of the film The Golden Age of 2nd Avenue, followed by a discussion led by Bob Cohn, editor-in-chief emeritus of the St. Louis Jewish Light. The documentary recounts the birth of Jewish American culture.

The Gephardt Institute for Public Service and the Career Center are sponsoring the annual Government and Public Policy Career Days on Tuesday, September 27th and Wednesday, September 28th. Events include Lunch with a Pro featuring the Corporation for National Community Service (CNCS), a panel discussion with the CIA, the CNCS, and Monsanto. There will also be dedicated Information Session with the CIA. On Wednesday, explore political career paths with speakers from Congress and students with political internship experience.
