Celebrate Shabbat in your dorm room or apartment with friends with Hillel's help for FREE.

 

You will receive challah, grape juice and candles, plus prayer guides to start your own Shabbat tradition.

Reserve online by Wednesday, pick up your package at Hillel on Friday between 9 a.m.-3 p.m. or have it delivered to your campus mailbox.

design competition and exhibition that reimagines
the Sukkah through the
lens of contemporary art
and architecture.

Submission are due by September 14.  The ten finalists Sukkah structures
will be on exhibit
October 18-22 on
Washington University's Danforth Campus.

Free Shabbat Dinners for Students!
Hillel Shabbat Dinners are free for students this year, and no reservations are required! 

Locations for meals and services may change from week to week due to Hillel's renovation project.  Please visit the events calendar on our website for weekly Shabbat locations and candlelighting times.  

Shabbat in Holmes 
Join St. Louis Hillel for the first Shabbat Dinner of the school year!  Dinner will be held in Holmes Lounge on Friday, September 2nd at 6:30 p.m., immediately following Shabbat services at Hillel at 5:30 p.m.

 

Shabbat Dinner is free for students and no reservations are required.  Dietary laws observed.

Jewish Community Relations Council of St. Louis seeks Applicants for the 2011-2012 Academic Year MAZON Hunger Fellow The fellow will work approximately 15 hours per week from mid to late September 2011 through May 2011 and engage in anti-hunger activism in the St. Louis community. The Fellow selected will arrange a specific work schedule with his or her supervisor at the JCRC. 7th Grade Hebrew/Tfillot Teacher
Seeking a teacher for two sections of 7th grade Hebrew and Tfillot.  The class meets on Sunday mornings and Tuesday afternoons. Requested knowledge of basic Hebrew and prayer skills as well as classroom experience or informal education experience.
 
4th Grade Judaics Teacher
Seeking a teacher for two sections of 4th grade Judaics, holidays and Torah. The class meets on Sunday mornings and Tuesday afternoons. Requested classroom experience or informal education experience.
 
Music Teacher
Seeking a music teacher to engage pre-K-7th grade students. The class meets on Sunday mornings. Requested song leading or other music experience.
 
4th/5th Grade Hebrew Teacher

Around the Community Calendar
Wednesday, September 21 - 1:30pm
The Saul Brodsky Jewish Community Library will present a screening of the film The Golden Age of 2nd Avenue, followed by a discussion led by Bob Cohn, editor-in-chief emeritus of the St. Louis Jewish Light. The documentary recounts the birth of Jewish American culture.

 

The program will be held at the Jewish Federation Kopolow Building, 12 Millstone Campus Drive. Movie snacks and drinks will be served.
