Hillel will not be hosting Shabbat on Friday, Oct. 16 due to Wash U Fall Break.
Shabbat-In-A-Box is always an option (see details below), but orders must be picked up on Thursday, as the Hillel office will be closed on Friday.

Phone-a-Thon is Approaching!
We need your help!! Phone-a-Thon is Hillel's largest annual fundraiser, but it is not possible without you! Come have dinner (or lunch), enter some raffles, and of course make calls throughout Phone-a-Thon. The schedule is as follows:

BUSINESS IN ISRAEL - IB 400I is a course offering for the spring semester. The course will meet in the first half of the semester, studying about Israel, its history, culture, and various business industries. Over spring break, students will participate in a 10 day immersion trip to Israel for the class. Upon their return, students will work on research papers and a comparative analysis of the differences between industries in the US and Israel. The trip will allow students to retain their Birthright eligibility. The cost of the land portion of the trip is $2,070, which includes, transportation, hotels, meals, tour guides, and tips. KESHER FALL CONVENTION 2009 will be held October 23-25 at Indiana University. Come spend the weekend in Bloomington with other Reform Jewish college students from all over the US and Canada! ETGAR 36 is looking for Wash U students who enjoy travel, politics, history, and working with teens - and would like to get paid to do all four! Etgar 36, a summer travel program for Jewish teens, is looking for staff. Etgar 36 offers cross-country journeys in which teens develop their American and Jewish identities as well as become empowered to get involved politically and socially. As a staff member, you will be able to see America and help develop the future leadership of the American Jewish community - and you will get paid to do it. Previous work with youth and involvement with youth groups/summer camp a plus. Applicants must be rising juniors or older, and should be in good physical shape. THE CLEVELAND HILLEL FOUNDATION is sponsoring a paid summer internship program for college students who will be sophomores, juniors, and seniors in Fall 2010. The program will run June 14-August 6, 2009. Students are placed for internships based on skills and interests at local businesses and non-profits. Interns work four days per week and participate in educational and social programming with Hillel on Fridays. There are also opportunities for movie nights, concerts, restaurant dinners, and other events. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and the final application dealine is February 1, 2010. An in-person interview between November 1 and February 1 is required for admission. DISCOVER JERUSALEM SEMESTER offers a uniquely exciting, accredited semester of study and experience in the heart of Jerusalem. The Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry is looking for volunteers on Friday, Oct. 23 for a one day service project. We are in need of volunteers to help clean and organize the food pantry and its contents.
