Each month presents a unique cycle of timing and opportunity. This month, with Mercury retrograde until August 26^th, we feel a bit 'underground;' there is an instinctive reaction to the turmoil in the world situation. Another stock market crash is perfect rewind for a retrograde Mercury - been there, done that. How many people are emotionally insulated from the daily disaster report? And, isn't it ironic that doing the 'right thing' now involves not listening to the news?

The axis of power for August is Leo and Aquarius. These two signs, which may appear to be so far from each other, are dynamically connected through their opposition. Leo, the sun sign from July 22 - August 22 is most connected to the Sun. Think of how the Sun brings life to earth; our day to day affairs revolve around its rising and setting. Sol grants heat and light, gravity, and organization. And, thusly, Leo is a sign of royalty and rulers - the point being that as we move into the Age of Aquarius; all humans are to be granted autonomy and self-determination.

The popularity of YouTube is a perfect example of the Leo/Aquarius axis. Anybody and everybody can now have their own personal TV station. Now there is a perfect example of a Leo paradise... Kings and Queens of personal media empires. But, the good ones serve a higher calling to actually provide meaningful content. And, we enter the Age of Aquarius.

The true path of Leo is ultraistic generosity, and the true calling for Aquarius is global justice. This Full Moon is a time to examine your role in a larger world; are you ready to abandon personal glory and serve your higher calling? We are all water bearers for the Aquarian age. Your mission is calling, and it awaits your sacred energy.
