Precautions regarding Mammograms and Dental X-Rays (for women)
On Wednesday, Dr. Oz had a show on the fastest growing cancer in women, thyroid cancer. It was a very interesting program and he mentioned that the increase could possibly be related to the use of dental x-rays and mammograms. He demonstrated that on the apron the dentist puts on you for your dental x-rays there is a little flap that can be lifted up and wrapped around your neck. Many dentists don't bother to use it. Also, there is something called a "thyroid guard" for use during mammograms. By coincidence, I had my yearly mammogram yesterday. I felt a little silly, but I asked about the guard and sure enough, the technician had one in a drawer. I asked why it wasn't routinely used. Answer: "I don't know. You have to ask for it." Well, if I hadn't seen the show, how would I have known to ask?

Every year we arrive at a time and place to honor the new Moon of April. This year, however, is amazingly unique because the month begins with Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, Mercury as well as the Sun in Aries. The New Moon of April 3rd is intensified by a Mars Uranus conjunction the same day as the Sun and Moon join forces. Mars adds fuel to any existing fire. One only needs to watch the news to observe a manifestation of Uranus in Aries; keywords are - revolution, reform, and the fight for freedom. So, this New Moon presents a dynamic energy that is best used on the personal level for new beginnings.
Aries is a sign of courage yet Kabbalah teaches that the spiritual lesson of the sign is found in the strength of reconciliation. And, this is where Saturn in Libra plays his hand in this glass bead game. Amidst the chaos of the outer world, we must find and meet our inner strength; there is no getting around it.
