What's Going On
Alert - Mercury Rx August 20 - Sept 12!
This month greets us with another Mercury retrograde session in Virgo. Being the ruling planet of Virgo this will enhance retrograde effects. So, if you have a project that requires a lot of focus and detail work, but not much running around, it's an excellent time to dig in and finish. Think re-work, re-define, and re-juvinate. This positive approach will save you frustration and false starts.
We can all learn more about astrology as we observe the powerful transits unfold and reveal their inherent possibilities. On Tuesday the 3rd, Jupiter (now in Aries) and Mars (in Libra) engage the powerful underdog planet Pluto. Jupiter and Mars in opposition might be described as a volleyball tournament - lively and interesting.
However, as they challenge Pluto, this combination takes on the flavor of a fencing match without body armor. Volcanic eruptions and earthquakes are likely manifestations of this planetary interaction. On the personal level, this is a critical time to refrain from conflicts and/or reckless actions; remember Pluto plays for keeps.
I am thankful for the presence of so called mean ole' Saturn. Saturn, now in the early degrees of Libra adds temperance and maturity to every potential for vulnerability or mishap. Saturn is also now influencing the most public sector, or Midheaven, of the United States astrological chart. With the stressful Cardinal Cross actively influencing the US chart, we can again watch and learn. Saturn is calling for maturity and responsibility; Uranus is undercutting the foundation that the country was built upon.
This month's New Moon of August 9th is at 17 Leo. The Sabian oracle message speaks about alchemy and the 'unlimited power of a human mind. We are called to gain control over the processes of nature through use of creative intelligence.' The Full Moon of August 24th, lights up in the 1st degree of Pisces. The oracle message for this lunation advises that we not 'engage in experiences where the risks outweigh the rewards!' That's also good advice for a Mercury retrograde time period.
August 6 - 8 is also considered to be a powerful StarGate opening, a time of accelerated awakening within us all. The Lion Heart 8:8 gate opens codes within our DNA, and is a time for cellular clearing and rewiring. With Cancer being the sign that completes the Cardinal Cross, Starting on Friday the 6th, the moon activates almost every other planet! Surely our hearts are longing for balance and completion as imaged by the metaphysical number 8.
I will close with a link to Mayan Majix, and their good news that we are in a cycle of days that welcomes back the Quetzalcoatl. According to legend, as a spiritual leader he advocates flowers, songs and meditation over acts of violence. The Quetzalcoatl will again erect a pillar which functions as an energy conduit between heaven and earth.
Remember that extremes of Light will illuminate the darkest times - this is our mission and our promise for a bright future.
