Year of the White Tiger
The Aquarius New Moon of February 13/14th presents a stellar lineup starring the Sun, Moon, Neptune, and our shapeshifter Chiron. In conjunction with the Chinese New Year, which always begins with the New Moon of February, and Valentine's Day, the planets now invite us into an era of healthy outer expression of our innermost essence.
The week of February 14 - 20 has some wonderful planetary energies that you might want to use to your advantage. Of course, Sunday is just packed with significance. The Sun conjunct Neptune will present opportunities to see beyond the physical realm and peer into the possiblities of your higher manifestation. This will work best if you avoid over-indulgence in Neptune's other favorite pasttime - mind alteration through substances. (A little bit is ok - just keep it light.) The Moon conjunct Jupiter this day can steer you into excess!
The 16th is another amazing day when Venus and Jupiter join forces in Pisces. These two will not meet in the soft, sensitive sign of Pisces for another 12 years! Look and see where Pisces is in your natal chart. When these two meet is a lucky time for finances, love, and celebrations. This just may be the day you meet Mr. or Ms. 'Right.' (Or in TIger talk - it's the year to find a mate.) And, Friday the 19th is another opportunistic day with a Taurus moon greeting the Sun, Pluto, Jupiter, and Venus. The Moon even aspects Mars in a way which can prompt you to take action.
People born in 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, and now in 2010 are considered in Chinese astrology to have qualities of the wild tiger. They are noted as adventurous self starters who reach out with forceful actions to fulfill their desires. In my experience, I have noticed that just like their avatar animal, 'Tigers' will often pace the floor and growl when disturbed. They are powerful and move with a natural grace. Tigers are also self confident and prefer the company of likeminded successful companions.
There are many traditions associated with the beginning of the Chinese New Year, among them it is suggested that you clean your house in advance of this day.
Shooting off firecrackers is symbolic of releasing the past, and this is where we meet with western astrology and the planets. To move ahead and avoid pacing the floor like a frustrated Tiger, we are now called to meet our inner most selves in the most sacred temple - our bodies. We simply must stay grounded and present to move ahead into the vibrations of our new age.
Think of the low and powerful growl of the Tiger - this is the Divine Goddess calling us home through the vibrations of Neptune and Chiron. You will meet her in the temple of the Sacred Mother. Neptune can make us feel like we want to leave the earthly realm, but this is where we need to be now - at home in our bodies, in communion with the planet and walking the path of healing.
