NEW PRODUCT:  Fantastic Organic SPF 20

I've been searching for years for a daily moisturizer with sun protection that doesn't contain chemical sunscreens, strong fragrance or unhealthy preservatives or feel like a coating of Crisco on my face...it's been like searching for the Holy Grail.  I finally found it!

This one is lightweight, absorbs quickly, works well under makeup and contains organic aloe vera juice, pomegranate seed oil, white tea extract and a combination of herbal extracts used as preservatives (oregano, grapefruit seed, goldenseal, rosemary).

I like it so much that KK Ayurveda now sells it!  (KK Ayurveda doesn't have its own sun protection product because they are difficult to produce and must be tested to verify their sun protection factor, a pricey endeavor.)

100% Pure Organic Pomegranate Antioxidant Hydration SPF 20

With rising rates of deadly forms of skin cancer, it's very important to protect your skin every day, rain or shine.  This lightweight, fast-absorbing, anti-aging facial moisturizer with SPF 20 protects your skin against the sun's harmful UVA (ultra violet aging) and UVB (ultra violet burning) rays. Physical sunblocks--like titanium dioxide and zinc oxide--are far less likely to cause skin irritation common with sun protection products containing chemical sunscreens and they don't break down as quickly with sun exposure either.

In addition to sun protection, this product's antioxidants protect your skin against environmental damage that comes from exposure to pollution, radiation, smoke, smog, car exhaust, etc.

This is the perfect multi-tasking, everyday lotion!  Click here to order it!

Sleep. The Great Equalizer.

Dr. Claudia Welch, my teacher and author of Balance Your Hormones, Balance Your Life, just wrote a piece on her blog about sleep that's worth reading.  She starts it by quoting her sister who asks, "could it be that the difference between enduring my life and celebrating it moment by moment is as simple as getting enough sleep?"

Since I've recently wondered the same thing (although not as eloquently), this article piqued my interest.

Claudia goes on to answer it by way of two patient anecdotes and this conclusion:

"We spend nourishment on moving around, working, thinking, worrying, being awake. We receive it through food, drink, fresh air and SLEEP. It doesn't work well for our bodies or minds to outspend our resources. So it's kind of simple. We have 2 choices: spend less of our resources or get more. When we have trouble finding ways to spend less--that is, slow down & relax--we can increase our resources by eating or drinking more nourishing food or (non-alcoholic) drink (which is sometimes hard to digest), breathing more fresh air or sleeping more. There are other options too, but these are the basics."

Recipe: Red Coconut Rice Pudding With Mango

I haven't made this yet but I like how it looks (click on the link below to see the recipe and its pic) and sounds...it has rosewater in it!!!  The red rice makes it look purple-red and the sliced mango on top makes a beautiful contrast
