It is reported that Jennifer Hudson got her start in the church choir, and the Christian faith she developed in her early years was put to the test when her mother, brother, and nephew were murdered in 2008. On May 11th, 2012 the jury found William Balfour, Hudson's former brother-in-law, guilty on three counts of murder in the first degree.
