Elevate 2011: The Best Ever! Rated by many participants as the "best Elevate Prayer Conference ever," Elevate 2011 featured Mark Batterson, best selling author, speaker, pastor, and coffee house devotee; Bob Bakke, executive director of Global Day of Prayer, teaching pastor at Bloomington (Minnesota) Baptist Church, and Concert of Prayer Leader; and Moi Navarro, gifted worship leader and song writer. If you missed it this year, you don't want to miss the opportunity to purchase a CD or DVD set for yourself and to share with others. Order forms are available in our Central Gear Bookshops. DVDs, $25, and CDs, $15, will be available within three or four weeks. They can be shipped for an additional $5. Read More Here |

In 2010 forty of the finest minds in America gather for the National Prayer Committee meetings. They were hosted by the prayer ministry at Central Christian Church. We really wanted to have three different prayer leaders speak on each night so that we didn't miss any of what they had to teach us. But you can see why that wasn't possible. So we came up with this crazy idea.
We would sit down as many of them as we could and ask them for 15 minutes of their best stuff on prayer. We figure anyone could spare 15 minutes. The results are these amazing podcasts.
Each month in our newsletter we will release a new one till all of them have been distributed.
This first one is from Caron Covell and it is entitled, "Learning to View Hollywood Completely Differently"
Caron Covell is a television producer, but she has figured out a way to impact Hollywood in a far greater way than sets, props, scripts, and sitcoms. Listen to her amazing story and her heart for this incredibly influential city and mission field that we call Tinsel Town.

Central Ramps Up Prayer for CityFest

If you're not quite sure where Season of Service and I Heart (____enter your community name here__) and Arizona CityFest activities begin or end, please take note of these Prayer opportunities related to CityFest.
The event itself will feature Luis Palau speaking at Tempe Town Lake Saturday and Sunday, March 19 and 20. This outreach will run from noon to 9 p.m. and have many activities and opportunities available for people to find community resources and a relationship with Christ.
But CityFest isn't just about those two days and talks by Luis Palau. It's made up of months leading up to that event which have been bathed in prayer and service by Christ-followers from 500 churches in the Sun Valley cooperating and reaching out to help their neighbors. For Central, it was a Season of Service and T-shirts that proclaimed, I "heart" Mesa, Gilbert, or Queen Creek, and sent servant ministers out into their communities to make a difference.
Through all the serving, prayer has covered each outing and event, seeking God's blessing on those serving and those being served as well as the communities of the Phoenix area. Read More Here

"Up Team Pray-Er"
Covers Central In Prayer
From Canada
Every month, behind the scenes, a group of people on the UPTeam are praying faithfully for this church: they're praying for the pastors and their families, elders and their families, the staff and their families, Central's ministries, and global field workers. Their dedication to intercession creates a foundation for the Lord to work in mighty and supernatural ways.
One of those faithful pray-ers is 78 year-old Gayleen Gronvold, who resides in Canada, winters here in Mesa, and attends Central while she is here. Gayleen and her husband Vern have been spending their winters in Arizona for about 28 years and have been coming to Central for 25 of those years.
Gayleen, a sweet, soft-spoken woman, is the epitome of a humble and faithful servant who was brought up in a church that fed them and taught them to set their minds on things above. The day Gayleen accepted the Lord is etched in her mind. Gayleen says, "Oh, how I remember the day I accepted the Lord. That was the greatest day of my life." Read More Here
