When? Central Christian Church of the East Valley will be doing 24/7 Prayer the week of November 13-20.
Where?
Mesa- Nov 13th through Nov 17th
We will have ten to twelve stations in the Chapel. The stations will direct you in ways to pray meaningfully and the time will fly by.
Gilbert - Nov 17 at 3:00 PM to Nov 20th at noon
We will have ten to twelve stations in the Chapel. The stations will direct you in ways to pray meaningfully and the time will fly by
Is it safe? Sure. We will have security people on duty during the evening hours so we can assure your safety.
How can I sign up? The Prayer Wall will go up in the Courtyard October 23 on both Campuses. All you have to do is pick the day and time you want to pray. Come pray as a family, as a small group, with a friend or by yourself. It will be a blessing no matter how you come.
Our goal:
Our goal is to have someone praying every hour for the entire seven day period day and night.
Why:
-
It erodes self-dependency.
-
It brings people face to face with God.
-
It facilitates confession and repentance in the body.
-
It glorifies God.
-
It brings new levels of intimacy with God.
-
It mobilizes the church to prayer.
Instructions for your prayer time:
1. Bring your Bible, a pen and your journal if you use one, and a light jacket or sweater. You may also wish to bring water to drink. (Water only in the prayer rooms, please.)
2. Arrive 10 minutes early.
3. Parking:
Mesa Campus: Park in the South Parking lot between the Family Life Center and the Worship Center (directly across from the park.)
Gilbert Campus: Park in the South Parking lot as far East as possible by the Worship Center

Prayer for a Chair
Want to help Queen Creek get off to a good start? Well you can. There are 777 chairs in the Performing Arts Center and we are asking people to take a chair and begin to pray for the person that will be in that chair on opening Sunday.
You can get your chair by contacting Aaron Pennington or by stopping by the lobby in Gilbert on Sunday and picking out the seat that you want to pray for. Imagine all the good that can come from these prayers! |
On Our Knees for Central

A ROBBER, A STORE CLERK, AND ADVICE TO SEEK PRAYER
As a desperate man attempted to rob a cell phone store in Pompano Beach, Florida, he was interrupted by a heartfelt testimony about Jesus from store clerk, Nayara Goncalves. In a remarkable display of faith, courage, and compassion, Nayara also advised the robber to meet with a pastor who would pray for him. The entire real-life drama was captured by surveillance cameras. Be sure to watch it. You will be amazed at how God worked through Nayara to touch the heart of the would-be robber. Read more about it and watch the video on the homepage of the West Palm Beach News.
NEW INDIANA UNIVERSITY STUDY REGARDING PROXIMAL PRAYER
An Indiana University associate professor in the Department of Religious Studies recently conducted research on the affect of "proximal intercessory prayer" for individuals with visual and hearing impairments. This study makes a positive case for prayer and God's healing power. It also suggests that the results of prayers are affected when people are physically meeting and praying together.

LET'S PRAY ABOUT THIS: UK HOSPITAL PROPOSES BIBLE BAN
Here is something you might want to pray about. This news story from CBN does not directly mention prayer, but it does inform us of a proposed ban of the Bible which, of course, is the book that provides us with instructions on how to pray, reveals the character of the God we pray to, makes us aware of what we should pray about, and provides us with stories that make it known that God hears and answers prayer. Multitudes of people in hospitals and other healthcare facilities have sought comfort, hope, faith, healing, and inspiration from Bibles that were made readily available at bedsides and in waiting rooms. Now, in an era when scientists are studying the health benefits of prayer, a UK hospital is proposing that Bibles be removed from bedsides. Read more.
FREEDOM OF RELIGION VS. FREEDOM FROM RELIGION
Hundreds of residents in Aiken, South Carolina flooded a city council meeting to express their opposition to a Wisconsin-based non-profit group's attempt to ban prayer in the name of Jesus at local public meetings. During an on-camera interview shown on WAGT-TV NBC nightly news, a pastor who attended the meeting made a thought-provoking statement, "The constitution talks about freedom of religion not freedom from religion." One Prayer Partner Has Gone International
"It started with coming up and praying after worship at Central last year. I know I've thanked you before, but thanks again for praying with me then and now on the phone and in emails. So many people here (in Iraq) are full of curse words, hate, jealousy and sadness. I get discouraged sometimes because of everything going on around me. So, it feels good to talk to a person, a real person, who carries God with her." Read Reba's Testimony Here |
Dose of Prayer Makes For Best Medicine
Testimony of
Don & Jo Wyatt
When Central members, Don and Jo Wyatt, obeyed God's calling on their lives to go into the mission field, they left here in the States many family members for whom their best care then would be via prayer.
After they had been on the field for some time, their son, Bob, who had been struggling with back pain and problems for some time, ultimately needed what doctors called very extensive surgery.
So, Don and Jo put out the call for others - many of them Central members -- to stand with them in prayer for Bob. There was question Bob could even survive the surgery, much less experience relief and healing from it; but in faith, the surgery was scheduled.
