Bob Bakke
Bob Bakke
Bob Bakke is the teaching pastor of Bloomington Baptist Church. He and his wife Sally live in Burnsville, MN and have three sons, a daughter, a son-in-law, a grandson and a black lab. A graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, Bob spent fourteen years serving Connecticut and New Jersey churches. For twelve years he served as an Executive Director of the Evangelical Free Church of America, promoting prayer and spiritual awakening. He is an author, and has produced television and radio simulcasts since 1994.

Presently, he helps lead The Global Day of Prayer in the U.S. with past broadcasts that have covered the earth affording millions the opportunity to pray simultaneously. As one who honors the local pastorate as the highest calling, Bob uses his gifts as a preacher, teacher, networker and tactician for promoting, forging and cultivating prayer-based movements, domestically and

tionally, that lead to the transformation of people and places. His designs are to ensure that the local church -- and BBC in particular -- becomes the principle agency for the revival of the Church and the advancement of Christ's Kingdom today.

Why Pray?

The Prayer Ministry has started an eight-week small group and we are going to study, you guessed it, prayer. In week one Paul Covert facilitated the topic of "Why Pray?"

Why pray if God already knows what we need?  More

Global Day of Prayer: May 23, 2010

GDOPThe Global Day of Praying is celebrating its tenth anniversary. Rising up out of South Africa, the world is now invited to pray in unity for repentance and revival around the globe. Last year all 220 nations of the earth participated!

Central will participate this year for the first time.  Below is a prayer that we are encouraging every one to pray on May 23rd for our world.

We will not have a gathering like we do for the National Day of Prayer.  Rather we are asking our people to pray this prayer as a family or in your small groups on that day.

Ministry Spotlight

As of April 12th at 3:00 PM Web Prayers have prayed for 47,149 different prayer needs on the Web Prayer team.  That sounds really good till you realize that we only have 34active participants on the team right now. That comes to a total of over 1,386 prayers per person praying on the web this year.

Could you pray for ½ hour a week over the needs of some of our friends at Central?  You could pray from home or anywhere there is a computer and you can pray anytime day or night.  Can you help?  We need people who will join our Prayer Web team.  It is simple just log on and begin to pray.  Contact Cathy.Cryer@cccev.com to join in.

notebookTake Note of Golden Nuggets!

Kathy Tuntland had done journaling of sorts during her lifetime, even before she became a Christ follower. For a while, she would jot down thoughts and tidbits she encountered, and then she would stop for a while -- off and on -- until she started a serious relationship with Christ.

Then the note taking became more frequent, more purposeful. It wasn't journaling as most define journaling. It was more a matter of taking notes on golden nuggets she was learning about a relationship with Christ and living as He would have her live. Nuggets, she discovered sadly, she would forget if she didn't write them down. More tured
