On the night of Friday, Jan 29th, about 6:00pm, the Mesa campus started bustling with people. The event wasn't even slated to start until 7:00pm. So what brought all these dedicated fans, so eager to make their way into the worship center, come so early? What were they looking forward to that they couldn't wait another minute? We soon found out. More |
Prayer Shields
We had a situation that arose during March that really made me proud of our people. Last month you may recall a toddler was run over by his father accidentally. The child was killed and the family was devastated. They had some connections to Central so out of the blue, several Central people decided to gather at the house, surrounded the property and prayed for the grieving family. On the given night they formed a human shield around the pain and anguish this family is dealing with. It was incredibly powerful and came not from the prayer ministry of Central, but from prayer people who get it and put what they are learning about prayer to work
Way to go! Please continue to keep the family in your prayers they will need a lot of it.

A Lesson in Fasting
"We can sacrifice just about anything of importance to us to spend time with God in prayer to meet a need."
One of the topics at the recent School of Prayer was fasting. Fasting is deliberate and purposeful self-denial, going without to connect with God. The purpose of fasting is to get God's direction and attention in desperate situations.

The Ultimate Race
Why would someone run 56 miles?
My soon to be daughter-in-law is doing just that. Hannah Landecker the fiancé of my son Joel and a team of seventeen runners from Team World Vision are traveling to South Africa to run the biggest ultra marathon in the world on May 30, 2010. They will be running 56 miles (at one time) to raise sponsorship for 1500 children in Kenya, Ethiopia, and South Africa. After the race, they will be visiting most of the children in the Kenyan and South African villages. Please feel free to pray for the team and the children they are running for. Check out their website. |

Ministry Spotlight
Service Intercession- Right now Central has nine services on the weekend. We have a team of people who pray at each one. Many of our teams are small and we really need additional people to help us pray over the services. It is not hard work and you can do it. Meet Paul or Cathy in the North Prayer Room in Mesa during service or in the East Prayer room in Gilbert. We will coach you from there.

Global Day of Prayer:May 23, 2010
The Global Day of Praying is celebrating its tenth anniversary. Rising up out of South Africa, the world is now invited to pray in unity for repentance and revival around the globe. Last year all 220 nations of the earth participated!
Central will participate this year for the first time. Below is a prayer that we are encouraging every one to pray on May 23rd for our world.
We will not have a gathering like we do for the National Day of Prayer. Rather we are asking our people to pray this prayer as a family or in your small groups on that day.
