New EaO09 and EaO10 Change Interval Recommendations
Due to engine design, AMSOIL EaO09 and EaO10 oil filters are not recommended beyond OEM change interval recommendations in Toyota, Lexus and Pontiac vehicles with Toyota-built engines. Stickers have been applied to the filter packaging that state the following:
Filter to be changed at the interval recommended by the vehicle manufacturer. Refer to your owner’s manual.
As a result of this change, the prices of these filters have been reduced:

As previously announced, the AMSOIL EaO57 oil filter is no longer recommended for Toyota/Lexus engines; this change has been incorporated on the AMSOIL electronic look-up system. The EaO57 may continue to be used for AMSOIL-recommended intervals in all other engine applications for which it is recommended.
For more information, see the EaO Filters - Toyota Applications Technical Service Bulletin, located in the Technical Service Bulletins section of the Dealer Zone .

AMSOIL Committed to Keeping Prices Down
In the last year the industry has seen a great deal of volatility in crude oil and raw material costs, forcing lubricant companies, including AMSOIL, to implement a series of price increases and energy surcharges to compensate. Fortunately, costs eventually fell and stabilized, allowing AMSOIL to implement an all-lubricant price decrease in March 2009. Since that time, crude oil and raw material costs have slowly climbed back upwards and, although AMSOIL has seen a number of recent cost increases, it is currently holding the line on its pricing.
So far in July, Shell (Shell, Pennzoil, Quaker State) has announced a 6% increase in finished lubricant prices effective September 15, Chevron has announced a 6 to 9% increase effective September 14 and Citgo has announced its MileMaster prices will increase from $0.24 to $0.40 per gallon effective August 15. Several larger independent lubricant companies have also announced increases in the $0.40 to $0.60 per gallon range, with most being implemented by the end of July. According to Tom Glenn of Petroleum Trends International, the reason for the increases is clear. “Base oil prices have increased from $0.50 to $0.75 a gallon in just the past 30 days,” he says.
As always, AMSOIL will control costs and hold the line on pricing to the absolute best of its ability, but never at the sacrifice of quality .
Motorists Looking to Keep Vehicles Longer
According to a recent vehicle maintenance survey commissioned by ExxonMobil, uncertain economic conditions have caused many motorists to re-examine the attitudes they hold about their vehicles. The survey indicated that 40 percent of survey respondents want to keep their vehicles for 150,000 miles or more (while 23 percent want to keep them for over 200,000 miles) and 37 percent plan to hold on to their vehicles longer than they planned at the time of purchase.
Although a growing number of motorists are planning on keeping their vehicles for longer periods of time, few have adjusted their maintenance habits to accommodate the extra mileage. Only 21 percent of survey respondents follow their vehicle manufacturers’ maintenance recommendations, while only 11 percent use synthetic motor oils.
The superior protection and performance provided by AMSOIL synthetic motor oils keep vehicles running in like-new condition, reduce maintenance costs and effectively extend vehicle life, making them the ideal choice for customers looking to keep their vehicles for longer periods of time.
AMSOIL to Update Catalog Customer Computer Files August 1

On August 1, AMSOIL will delete the computer files for catalog customers who have not ordered in more than 24 months. These records are being updated for the first time in several years, and they will be maintained thereafter on a monthly basis. Dealers interested in retaining contact information for previous customers should periodically save copies of their “Personal Sponsored List” that is posted in the Premium Dealer Zone.

Dealer Business Insurance Changes Effective Immediately

AMSOIL INC. recently changed insurance agencies from Otis Magie Insurance Agency, Inc. to The Christensen Group. This change will only impact Dealers who have business insurance policies through Otis Magie with RLI. Otis Magie will no longer be offering the insurance for AMSOIL Dealers. Dealers should expect to receive notices from RLI approximately 60 days prior to the expiration of their policies, informing them that the policies will not be renewed in association with Otis Magie. RLI will renew the policies if Dealers contact them directly.
Dealers who would like to continue purchasing business insurance coverage can explore the following options:
• Add an endorsement to their homeowner’s policy – depends on annual sales volumes
and other factors
• Contact RLI through their website (www.rlicorp.com) and purchase a business insurance
policy
• Contact Dan Rockwell at The Christensen Group (e-mail: drockwell@cg-iri.com,
phone: 952-653-1069)

Estate Planning

An AMSOIL Dealership has value and is part of a Dealer’s estate. Dealers work hard to build their businesses and want to ensure that their efforts aren't wasted. Who is going to manage your business when you are no longer able? AMSOIL is here as a resource in dealing with estate planning for your AMSOIL business.
AMSOIL Dealerships are independent businesses and not franchises of AMSOIL INC. As such, decisions regarding the managing of the Dealership and its assets belong solely with the Dealer. AMSOIL will support Dealers, the executors of their estates or their spouses as they are planning the estates or acting on directives provided in the estates, trusts or wills.
The new AMSOIL Estate webpage provides a good base of information, including a “Frequently Asked Questions” document about estate planning and your AMSOIL business, a document that provides various examples of legal templates for inheritance, sale or transfer of an AMSOIL business and information on submitting information for the Wings of Passage section in the Hotwire. |
