Established In 1999 by former National Football League (NFL) players, Tyrone Smith of the San Francisco 49ers, Derrick Harris of the St. Louis Rams and Darnell Walker
of the San Francisco 49ers, the purpose of First and Goal, Inc. is to
provide a unique service in which youth will obtain resources to
enhance academic, social and moral development.

First and Goal, Inc. Mentoring Program
|
First and Goal, Inc is facilitating a group mentoring program at Budewig Intermediate in Alief ISD titled Boy's Club. Boy's Club is a group mentoring
program which emphasizes character development and leadership in a group
setting while effectively reducing academic failure and other factors that may
lead to at risk behavior. Boy's Club encourages student growth in the areas of
goal setting, leadership, positive self-image, academic achievement, conflict
resolution, and self-confidence. The sessions are designed to encourage and motivate
students to set goals and make appropriate decisions to achieve their goals.
Students learn how to overcome obstacles and failure while setting new goals to
achieve.

Mid Winter Graduation Commencement
On January 22nd Tyrone Smith was the commencement
speaker for the Aldine ISD Mid  Winter Graduation
Commencement at the M. O. Campbell Center. "It is truly a honor to encourage the young people to truly believe in themselves as they move forward into their next phase of life."

Today we had a presentation with a guest speaker, Tyrone Smith, he was
here to speak to us about leadership. He spoke to us about his past,
about problems he had gone through to recognize what he had to do to be
a leader for himself. I learned to be a leader is someone to look up
to. A leader does the right thing, and doesn't follow other people. He
or she depends on themselves whether to make the right choices or not,
and to be an individual.
