Established In 1999 by former National Football League (NFL) players, Tyrone Smith of the San Francisco 49ers, Derrick Harris of theSt. Louis Rams and Darnell Walker
of the San Francisco 49ers, the purpose of First and Goal, Inc. is to
provide a unique service in which youth will obtain resources to
enhance academic, social and moral development.

Upward Bound Banquet

Tyrone Smith pictured Upward Bound Galveston College Staff Tyrone Smith was given the privilege
of being the keynote speaker for the Upward Bound Banquet on August 14th
in Galveston, Texas.
The banquet highlighted the Upward Bound College Program for Galveston College.
Tyrone Smith shared his stimulating message of developing a "Game Plan for Life" by pursuing higher
education with the students, parents, and administrators involved in the
program, as well as students from Galveston
Ball High
School.

Encouraging Westbury High Football Team
On August 21st,
Tyrone Smith spoke with the Westbury
High School football
team. Tyrone Smith delivered a
motivational message that encouraged the athletes to see themselves as students
first. The message emphasized the
importance of understanding their purpose in life, having a plan to fulfill
their purpose, and making a commitment to giving their best effort. The members
of the Westbury High School football team learned that
each one of them is the Most Valuable Player, but being the M.V.P. means taking
care of what is important as individuals off the field in order to have gain
success as a team on the field.

First and Goal, Inc. - L.E.A.D. (Leadership Empowerment to Achieve Dreams) Conferences and Camps
are designed to build today's youth into tomorrow's leaders. During
the conference students will define the characteristics of a leader and their
personal views on leadership. Join us on October 14th for our high school and junior high school conferences at the Richard E. Berry Center. Spaces are limited, so reserve your spaces today.

with First and Goal, Inc. each year to host the Journey Beyond Dreams college
experience program. Journey Beyond
Dreams is a comprehensive educational experience designed to increase higher
education interests in high school students. The mission of "Journey
Beyond Dreams" is to increase the graduation and college attendance rates
of underrepresented students.
