First and Goal, Inc. - Journey Beyond Dreams College Experience Program
 The Journey Beyond Dreams College Experience Program impacted the lives of over thirty students to give them a realistic view of what college is like. The students were equipped with tools, techniques and incite on what it takes to be a successful college student. Students that participated in the program where from Houston, Aldine, Conroe and Waco ISD.

"Journey Beyond Dreams" College Experience Program. The program was
from June 8th - 13th at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. We would like

TEAM First and Goal TACKLES THE TAKS TEST
|
On
June 23, TEAM First and Goal traveled to Del Valle, Texas to motivate students for the upcoming TAKS test. There were over 700 students attending the Del Valle ISD summer school sessions. Tyrone Smith delivered an inspiratioanl message encouraging all the students to overcome failed experiences, reach for their dreams and develope a "Game Plan for Life."

Hello
my name is Esperanza Alaniz and I am currently a senior at Sam Houston
State University.
I am majoring in Early Childhood Education with Bilingual as my minor. I am
involved in two organizations on campus. Circle K International which is
a collegiate organization dedicated to service and leadership development. The
CKI Chapter at Sam
Houston State
University is the second oldest
chapter in the Texas-Oklahoma District. I am also an Interested Lady of Lambda
Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. which is the first and largest Latin
Sorority in the nation. I participated in the Journey Beyond Dreams program at Baylor University
in 2003. It was a fun and learning experience. I met new people and learned to
work as a team in many activities. I would like to thank Tyrone Smith for
arriving at Sam Houston High School
and speaking about Journey Beyond Dreams. He spoke with such enthusiasm
and that is how I was convinced to have an unforgettable college life
experience my junior year in high school.

the Baylor University Department of Multicultural Activities to host the "Journey Beyond Dreams" (JBD) college experience program. JBD is a comprehensive educational experience designed to increase higher education interests in high school students. The mission of "Journey
Beyond Dreams" is to increase the graduation and
college attendance rates of underrepresented students.

First and Goal, Inc. was awarded an
ASI Residency Funding Grant by CASE, Cooperative for After-School Enrichment -
Harris County Department of Education. The program is being implemented at Kandy Stripe
Academy and focuses on
leadership, character education, youth violence prevention and community
outreach
