The Dublin Theatre Festival: An International Experience
|
| The Dublin Theatre Festival is
one of Europe's oldest theatre festivals and has been on the world's
Festival calendar since 1957. The Festival hosts productions by the world's
most highly regarded artists, while also
premiering work by the giants of Irish theatre.
In 2009, the Festival presented
nearly 300 performances in 20 venues from 12 different countries, incorporating
everything from music to dance, from cutting edge theatre to the biggest shows
on Broadway.
In addition to hundreds of main-stage
productions, the festival presents a multitude of special events which includes
masterclasses from the world's top practitioners, artist development
programs, film screenings, symposiums, schools workshops and panel
discussions.
