Numbers Are In for 2010 - Detection and Reporting Most Effective Approach to Piracy
CodeArmor Intelligence has been hard at work for our customers and yielded some remarkable data in 2010:
  • Top customers identified more than $800 million in unlicensed software revenue pipeline
  • Customers reported top line growth up to 25 percent directly from recovered license revenue using CodeArmor Intelligence
  • Roughly half of the estimated revenue loss is actually a result of license overuse by active customers
  • Besides the well-publicized piracy rates in China, Russia and Taiwan, the U.S. and Germany make up the top five geographies. The top 10 (including France, Canada and Great Britain) are listed on V.i. Labs' Stat Watch page
Interestingly, based on aggregate customer data, V.i. Labs has found that the BSA/IDC piracy rate may in fact be too conservative and underestimating the true number of losses due to piracy.

Video Introduction to GetVisi - Software Intelligence Online
Based on our CodeArmor Intelligence engine typically used by large, high-value software vendors, V.i. Labs Software Intelligence Online (GetVisi) offers actionable intelligence for software vendors to track the use and misuse of their software. GetVisi makes software usage reporting, piracy detection and reporting, and trial download tracking possible for small to mid-size ISVs and levels the playing field as they compete with larger vendors.
