Responding to Software Piracy
Dane Collins, CEO of AWREnforcement Challenge or Revenue Opportunity?

On October 13, 2010, V.i. Labs hosted a software piracy luncheon in San Jose, California featuring guest speaker Dane Collins, CEO of AWR Corporation and EDA Consortium board member.

In a most candid discussion of software piracy, Dane shared AWR Corporation's experiences dealing with software piracy - from denial, anger, frustration, and acceptance all the way through recovering lost software revenue.

V.i. Labs' Vic DeMarines presented the latest case studies and trends based on CodeArmor Intelligence data to provide broader context to the discussion.

If you are responsible in any way for dealing with software piracy, you won't want to miss this presentation.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the nature of the content presented, we are limiting access to this presentation to software vendors and their anti-piracy partners.

Piracy Revenue Pipeline Explained
You may have noticed a new addition to our website in the last couple
few weeks - the Piracy Revenue Pipeline counter.

Piracy Revenue Pipeline

So what exactly is a Piracy Revenue Pipeline and how do we calculate this number?

The Piracy Revenue Pipeline number represents real data aggregated from a sample of our deployed CodeArmor Intelligence customers. Each customer:
  • Has implemented CodeArmor Intelligence into their applications
  • Has had their applications cracked and made available in piracy distribution channels for unlicensed use
  • Is receiving infringement reports from their applications that they are actually being used
  • Is identifying the number of unique machines using their unlicensed applications

The Piracy Revenue Pipeline for each application is the result of multiplying:

Number of Unique Machines x List Price of the Application

The total number you see on our homepage is the sum of all of the individual application's Piracy Revenue Pipeline.

What Does This Number Mean To ISVs?
