YOUR TAKE

We have collected feedback through advisory groups, surveys, e-mails and interviews. Here is what YOU have found. SCAN helps your students:
  • Build empathy and understanding by seeing other perspectives and exploring consequences
  • Experience historical and current events through role playing
  • Learn real collaboration skills -- discussion, negotiation, compromise, prioritizing
  • Understand complex issues by looking through the lenses of stakeholders
  • Feel ownership and pride for developing their own ideas and getting valid feedback

Thanks for your input! We are striving to make changes that will enhance these results and streamline your workload.

Major Upgrades Planned

You have spoken - and we have listened! We have some exciting changes in the works for subscribers, including:

  • more content-rich lessons with more fully-developed points of view
  • the ability to upload your own lessons
  • enhanced monitoring and evaluation capabilities
  • greater flexibility in modifying and organizing lessons during or after set-up
  • more powerful assessment options

Changes should be ready to use by January 2010.

More Support and Resources for Teachers
We are looking to reorganize the www.yourtake.org site to make it more valuable to you. Look for increased teacher support tools and information. As well as, easier navigation and more valuable content. Of course, we will retain our problem-solving content for kids.

Increased Cross Curricular Opportunities
Because historical and current events are natural applications of the SCAN tool, we are striving to increase the quality of content in this area. This will lend itself to great cross-curricular opportunities for all teachers as we bring relevant and authentic issues to our students that can be used in any subject area.

Lesson Title Changes

Please be aware: many titles of lessons have changed (the content remains the same). Many titles have been reworded to be more descriptive and easier to find.
