Rose Care
Roses
The wet spring has been hard on many plants in our gardens, especially roses. Cool damp conditions have caused slow growth and disease problems.  We can't change the weather but we can help the situation by keeping our roses healthy. Regular feeding, disease and insect control early will reduce problems later. I recommend Bayer All In One Rose Care, a single application will last for up to 6 weeks and has fertilizer, insect and disease control built in. By keeping our roses fed, free of bugs and disease problems we still have plenty of time to see our roses perform well for us all summer long.

Drip Irrigation

Spend your summer enjoying your garden instead of watering it.  Drip irrigation is much more effective than hand watering and can save up to 70% more water.  Attend one of our FREE classes to learn the basics of doing it yourself.

Saturday, May 21st @ 11am
Wednesday, May 25th @ 11am

Both classes will be taught by Chris Shonnard

Blooming Annuals Easy Summer Color
Use these tips for blooming annuals and perennials to extend their beauty.
1.  Cut out damage from cold and rainy weather
2.  Feed you plants.  We recommend Gardner and Bloome's All Purpose Organic Fertilizer.
3.  Put down 2-3" of compost around your plants to encourage root growth.

Philomath Hanging Baskets Philomath Hanging Baskets

We feel pretty special to be carrying these extra large hanging baskets that you see in downtown Philomath.  Remember, you need an extra strong support, which we have in stock, as they can weigh up to 100 pounds!  Use these tips to keep any hanging basket beautiful all summer.
Fertilize - use an organic fertilizer that lasts up to two months.  We recommend Gardner and Bloome's Bud & Bloome
Deadhead - when a flower starts to wilt, we recommend you take it back to the stem with a small hand clipper.  This will give the power to the other blooms
Water - Plan on watering a couple of times a week.  Check the weight of the plant after a good watering and use this as a gauge each time.
