Check your Item List E-mail for your summer items "Pick Up Date". If it is 6/30/11, you have just one more week to come pick up any items that did not sell. Stop in and request a print out of your items, then find them on the clearance racks. We have had many compliments about our processing speed (now three weeks, instead of eight!) This is due in part to quality checking items at the door. - the other part is our AWESOME staff of moms and grand-moms who help out here part-time! So... Thank you for your patience and help with our processing speed! Checking your clothes at home and then giving us a few minutes to look at them under our lights has REALLY brought us up to speed!
We are now accepting FALL and WINTER (only) clothing items, boots, snow gear, holiday items, costumes etc!
Please allow for a 10-20 min wait while dropping off so that we may do a quick, quality check on your clothing. ALL items MUST be in excellent condition, without stains, holes or wear. Please see our regularly updated webpage for current drop off needs and areas where we are full. |

The SecondBest Favor For Your BFFs Well, I can certainly understand some people's aversion to "thrift" stores after visiting a few in our area recently. It saddens me that these stores don't take more pride in the valuable service they provide here in NoVA :-( Here are yet *more* articles about Consumer Confidence, debt, and job concerns still lingering in the US from the Washington Post and CNN:
"Consumer Confidence Unexpectedly Declines in June"
"June jobs report: Hiring slows, Unemployment rises" An excerpt from the former caught my eye.
"This fall, shoppers will be seeing the cost of most clothing and accessories go up as retailers grapple with higher labor costs in China and soaring prices of raw materials..."
So I did a quick surf to Target.com and Walmart.com to see for myself. Boys 5T jeans ranged from $8.99-$12.99 depending on brand and style. LLaL has more styles, more brands, and better looking store owners (a mondo plus being married to Charlene "Hot Momma!" Meny :-) than any department store out there. And always a smile to boot!
But let's face it; the reason most people shop at our store is those 5T jeans START at $3.50-6.00, and they DECREASE in price every 30 days, clearly marked on our tags. After 90 days, those same jeans are $0.88-$1.50 clearance or we donate to local charities.
The best favor you can do for your BFF that costs nothing is watch their kids and give them a "night off" so parents can stay sane and if married can remember WHY they got married in the first place. Or give them $1,000,000 after hitting the lottery - it's a close tie for first place. But the SECOND best favor is tell them they're crazy NOT checking out our store for Summer (and soon Fall :-) clothing for their beansprouts who seemingly grow inches overnight. We're NOT like other stores, and CERTAINLY not like some area thrift stores. We're a bunch of moms (plus me!) working part time to bring you the best possible kids clothing at remarkable prices.
And yes, we're praying about the Dulles North Expo being converted into a Walmart soon. On one hand, it should help bring people to our area [I shop there quite often!]... on the other, it IS Walmart (who has put soooo many Ma and Pa stores out of business :-( But even the Juggernaut of Retail can't touch OUR prices and OUR brand selection, so we're feelin' pretty good carrying our sling with Goliath moving into the neighborhood... :-)
Tell your friends about us. Or go screaming naked through the neighborhood. I don't really recommend the latter, but if that's your thing so be it. They'll all thank you later :-). |
