March 2011

Welcome to Spring at Little Lords and Ladies!

Greetings!

"April Showers bring May flowers", except at NoVa's largest kids' consignment store LLaL where "February Showers bring March Shorts, Swimwear, and Sundresses!" Spring tees, dresses, sandals, and more are in!  New arrivals of spring and summer clothes are hitting the racks daily.  Visit us often, so you don't miss a thing!

While you are here, take advantage of our winter clearance items.  They are on
huge racks at the back of the store - all new clearance items starting this week!

See you at the shop!

Spring Fashion Show in the News!

Our spring fashion show was so much fun!  You can read more about it in the new, online community newspaper The Patch.

Also, photos by Marilyn O'Connell are now posted on our website, LittleLordsAndLadies.com in the Calendar section (click on Photos of Past Events).  If you'd like to order photos, you can contact Marilyn at MarilynOconnellPhotography.com

We look forward to having another fashion show in the future!

Consignor's Corner - We LOVE our consignors!

Just a few business items to clarify...

Pick Up Date

Please check your Item List E-mail for the "Pick Up Date" on your items, if you do not want them donated.  Please return to the store within 2 weeks of that date to pick them up.  Thanks!

 -------------

Thank you for your patience while we review your drop offs at the door and

return any unsellable (stained/worn) or out-of-season items to you on the spot!

Our storage is full, and all donation/returns piles are overflowing! We are beginning to realize that the number of items that we are returning or donating

is drastically slowing down the processing of your bins.  We ask that you kindly review each piece before bringing it in, even if you usually check off "Donate"

on the forms.  We would much rather help you sell your items, rather than donate them!  :)  Fortunately, the Goodwill at the Clock Tower in Herndon has daily donations hours and will take many of the items we don't sell (like car

seats, cribs and stuffed animals.)  Thanks so much for your cooperation!

We look forward to serving you faster!

-------------

If you check off 'donate' on your paperwork, your 2010 tax donation receipts are available by the drop off counter.  Grab yours for this year's taxes!  Any donation slips left after April 15th will be recycled.

Buy Local

Winter clearance is happening now!  Tell a friend about our shop and how they can find great clothes at huge discounts!  (Did you know that more money stays in the community when you buy locally?  ALL of our items are being sold by parents and grandparents JUST LIKE YOU who live right here in our area.) [Da Boss Comment: our Barters are ALSO el loco locals! ;-) ]

We look forward to seeing you in the shop!  Don't forget to mention the coupon
below at checkout to get the deal of the month.  Happy Spring!

Sincerely,

Fashionably Late

"Fashion show's overwhelming success stuns Boss.  News at 11."

OK, Da Boss Man was absolutely, positively wrong about the popularity of our first ever (but NOT last :-) Fashion Show.  Hot Momma Charlene and her Super Manager Shannon said we should try it.  Kid's love to play dress up!

Personally, I thought they were both loco.  Turns out, I was :-)  In fact, the show's popularity almost overwhelmed us - we had about 30 kids, and we even had to turn away a few!  We learned a lot about some logistical things (need a microphone, don't use blue painters tape, get the kids through faster or perhaps two at a time, pack aspirin, etc.) and boy was it fun!  The kids really got into "sashaying" (not sure how you spell that) and performing for all the parents and cameras.  And I kept getting in the way of Marilyn O'Connell, our professional photographer, as the kids were eating up the lime light!

And to think I almost issued my Executive Veto power...  Thank God my wife has more creative juices in her pinky finger than my Engineering Mind could ever imagine!  And Jen Presler's fashion taste coupled with organizational skills pretty much saved the day (if it were up to Da Boss, all kids would wear togas and tennis shoes).  We even had several moms volunteer to run various stations :-)

Overall, I stand humbled and impressed.  It was sooo much fun I am actually looking forward to our next one :-)  Thanks, Everyone!
