Happy Anniversary!
It's our 3 year Anniversary :-)
And we're celebrating with an email-only Secret Sale (the first of its kind at our store!). BUY 3 GET ONE FREE!
We don't know if this is a good idea or bad, but we're gonna try it for ONE WEEK ONLY :-) How does it work for consignors? Basically, LLaL will buy the fourth for y'all so consignors get the full amount. Hard to believe we've survived for 3 years in this economy, but for some strange, cosmic reasons there apparently are growing kids in both good AND bad economic times!
Go figure :-)
And furthermore, as the little ones grow faster than your hubby's flatulence-effect zone (admit it - all men have them!), for some strange reason moms still want to recycle their kids' clothes, make extra moola doing so, and get great deals on more clothes!
Buy any four items (4 t-shirts, 4 cribs [we wish!], 4 shoes, 4 shorts) and the least expensive item of those are on us. And there's no limit (buy 8 and 2 are on us!). I may regret saying that, but I'm in a great mood and we're celebrating.
So come take advantage of our insanity while you can, May 3rd thru 8th.
And I'd really appreciate it if you'd wish my wife, Charlene, a Happy Anniversary or words of encouragement when you stop by! It takes a stronger woman to be married to a strong [headed?] man :-)

We support local businesses, and the owner of Contemporary Music Center across the street has entered a book into a national competition "The Next Top Spiritual Author". Menzie Pittman, musician extraordinaire and owner of CMC (great music lessons there, by the way!) is entering his book "Just in Case I'm Not Here" in this American Idol-like competition, and the "next round" of voting ends on May 3rd (yea, in typical Brian-like fashion I was suppose to send this out on Friday so the deadline looms NOW for him :-( You can help him advance by logging on and voting (you register your vote, then they send a confirmation email to prevent spamming).
Check his video blurb out at the link above and cast your vote! Who knows? Maybe the book "Real Men Change Diapers: Business 101" I am writing in my spare time (haha) will get submitted next year and be on Oprah! I hope Menzie gets there first this year!!!
Menzie, tell Oprah we said HI! And of course if she's in need of great kids' clothing at reasonable prices, I'll magnanimously offer her 10% off :-)
She's a biz owner... she'll understand if I can't afford her 15% off right now :-)

Nothing's quite on schedule, but rest assured we're moving forward with Merlin's Play Area and Guin's Cafe :-)
Stay tuned for the area's most convenient play area for miles around! Phase I is about 3 weeks away :-)

Winter
Dropoffs Resume
June 1st
We're still growin' in popularity, and we have oodles of bins to process LOTS of Spring/Summer stuff over the next 3 months :-)
So the Dropoff window has closed for this Spring/Summer season and my employees will politely turn you away during the month of May :-) Come on back June 1st and we'll start taking Winter/Fall stuff (geez, hard to believe!) to prepare for our August Back to School event!
Try not to be offended if one of the ladies turns you away... we mentioned it in our last Newsletter, had it posted in our store for 4 weeks, and we wouldn't even process it till the end of this season which doesn't maximize your selling potential!
So, May and November will be our "catch up" months as we transition into the next season. And the Barters (working for store credit) are working out great! I wish we would have started them at the beginning of this season, but next season we'll do better! We're learnin' TONS of stuff every month. Holy cow. You can't imagine :-)

I'll be honest - I'm Facebook illiterate/ignorant (and I profess to be technically savvy!)
I haven't figured out how to make the pic/logo above link to our Facebook homepage, for example, but one of my employees basically threatened bodily harm if I didn't start mentioning it :-)
So I'll add more detail/linkages in the next Newsletters when I figure them out. For now, just search for "Little Lords and Ladies" and we're the only ones who pop up! Actually, we pop up twice because of a first attempt at a homepage, but we're trying to get that unkept one removed :-) | |
