Howdy, !
LLaL is Growing
in NoVA...
We're already the BIGgest, COOLest, and FUNnerest Kids Consignment store in NoVA. And by Aug 1st, we will be the FUNerestER!!! This summer is quite the busy one, adding new services for y'all (see Coming Soon article to the right), building new rooms and areas in the store, and rearranging the store to accomodate! Parking out front is rough when Chantilly Gymnastics is in session, so we're saving pennies for a ramp in the back door for better parking and closer Dropoff point (you won't have to carry your stuff so far into the store! We're shutting down Dropoffs during the months of May and November to allow for transitioning to the next season, hiring more staff on Barter (working for store credit like Dani's Duds - if anyone is interested, email us! :-) and developing more structured classes for moms and tots alike! We STILL haven't figured out how to keep up with the huge demand for our services yet (word keeps spreading, we keep growing, and the # of dropoffs continues to increase!). This means we always have the biggest selection of brand names and cool stuff, but it's challenging to get through processing as fast as we want. Still need a little extra grace from y'all :-) Kid to Kid in Centerville (goin' on 10 yrs for them!) is really great at processing on the spot and that's what we want our Ma and Pa store to grow into, so we take a little extra time to keep ALL stains and broken zippers away. I've never really understood why people don't stop at our store first and check it out - our prices our lower than any retail store in all of NoVA, AND we carry virtually every brand known to mankind. And womankind ;-) If you ask Pa, I think there are some alien-kind as well as I've never heard of some of these girly clothes. Holy cow... they need to offer girl's clothing classes for poor Dads!!! Thank GOODNESS Char and I were blessed with two boys. Heaven knows I'd be powerless to say "No" to two little girls of my own! So read on, find the Secret Sale article (a regular Newsletter feature going forward JUST for email customers :-) and as always, feedback/suggestions welcomed! Regards, -Brian "Da Boss Man" :-)

Sir Brixalot and his staff is returning for 6 weeks of Brix Club starting in May :-) Unlike last time, we can now have Club any time during the day, any day of the week!
So...
Email LLaL what day/time works best for youand we will try to accommodate! All six sessions cost only $40/child, $20/sibling for ages 5 and up. If ya do the math, that's about $6/hr and a steal by any club's definition. Over 30,000 LEGO(R) bricks will be on hand with a unique theme each week!
Feel free to forward this invitation to others! Not limited to LLaL customers/consignors only :-) Email the store to register or vote!

Howdy! This is the Blog portion of our Newsletter where we will share our thoughts, hopes, dreams, and fears for those who want to know us better :-)
There are so many changes afoot it's difficult to track them all :-) We're re-arranging the store layout, painting, building walls, adding checkout counters, and more.
It's 11pm and I'm aboutto go to the store to beginseveral hours of painting.
A mentor once told me "Do what others don't and you'll have what others won't." My wife encourages me to write a book about our travails and triumphs, and I think the title will be "Real Men Change Diapers: Entrepreneurship 101." The over-arcing theme will be "Do Whatever It Takes" and a diaper is the metaphor that no matter how stinky/dirty the task, and how exhausted/unwilling you are, the responsibility always falls on the shoulder of the Entrepreneur, male or female.
And, of course, real men SHOULD change diapers as 50% of that bundle of joy who just made a bundle of poopoo is equally your responsibility...
The first chapter will be "Don't Do It." Then I'm going to list all the reasons one should NOT go into business for themselves: finances, time commitment, headache, lack of sleep, debt, etc.
The second chapter will be "No, Seriously. Don't Do It." And I'll go into the tears and stress, house forclosure risks, debt collectors and endless calls, and arguments. And more tears.
And THEN on the the third chapter I'll begin with sage advice on how to succeed. Basically, if you get discouraged and scared after 2 chapters in a book, you're NOT cut out to be an Entrepreneur. At least not YET. Ever had a customer oh-so-happy that you cannot find their item they've had on consignment for 2 months? Did your staff mistag it? Unlikely, but perhaps. Was it stolen? Probably. But that sure doesn't make the customer any more patient, regardless of HOW hard you've tried to help them with 38 other items. Thank GOODNESS that doesn't happen very often! :-) But ya still feel like a big ol' goober when it does...
So, make sure you hold your breath (NOT!) for this pending New York Times best seller I'm writing in my copius free time. Right after I stop painting tonight about 4am. And until then, we really do appreciate your patronage (even if these newsletters seem to *always* be too long :-) and we're doing everything we can to be a local community icon and fun place to shop!!!
Best Regards and looking forward to serving you, -Brian
