Greetings!    

 

Well we had the last Festival of Light for this year on 22nd September and three are planned for 2013 the dates are below. I want to remind everyone that we now have an additional suite just for the workshops and talks which solves the autistic problems we were having.  This festival is non profit making, the only income is the rent from the stand holders.  All who work on the event do so voluntarily including myself, we do this because we love it. Applications are now being invited for future 2013 stands.

I have started a Distant Healing For All Facebook Group details below, we would love you to join us.

My jewellery making has grown and I now have a huge stock. This is what I really enjoy doing and I sell beautiful items at very reasonable rates.  I will be adding to my range shortly with a few of my own designer items.  They will appear on my website and Facebook page.

The Grey Wolf

As a young child in junior school we were asked to write about Romulus & Remus and the teacher was astounded that I wrote pages and pages but this legend so enthralled me then and whilst putting this newsletter together I remembered this.

Romulus and Remus

The story of the twins, sons of the god of War, Mars. In the legend Romulus and Remus are orphaned when their mother, Silvia is imprisoned and the infants are cast into the Tiber River. They are set ashore under a fig tree and found by a she wolf and a woodpecker, animals that are sacred to Mars. The twins are fed and nursed by the animals, until Faustulus, the king's herdsman finds them and raises them with his wife. They left home to found their new kingdom on the shores of that same river where they had many years before begun their legendary lives.

Some 18 years ago I was reading in my front room with my ex husband when I heard my name called and as I looked up I saw a wolf in the middle of the room. It jumped into my third eye. I was so shocked at that time I could not speak for nearly 30 minutes.  I have since discovered that it is a she wolf with a cub who has been with me ever since.
 
I believe that the wolf signifies teaching.

Vaccine for 12 year old girls

From this month (September), British schoolgirls from the age of 12 upwards are being offered a new vaccine to protect against cervical cancer. Gardasil is replacing Cervarix as the NHS's vaccine of choice to combat HPV (human papillomavirus), which causes the cancer.

But WDDTY reveals that Gardasil is officially the world's most dangerous vaccine. And the UK government isn't telling parents the truth about a vaccine that has been responsible for at least 100 deaths and thousands of life-destroying disabilities in the US, where it has been used for four years.

WDDTY challenges the government to answer:

why the UK has so readily embraced Gardasil when take-up has slumped by a third in the US following thousands of reports of adverse reactions, including death
why our drug regulators are being so lax when America's Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has enforced stronger warnings on the vaccine's packaging, and is investigating a new reaction known as 'immunotoxicity' where the whole immune system is affected why the UK has accepted a vaccine that has been rejected by India after an early trial, funded by Microsoft billionaire Bill Gates, led to the deaths of seven young girls and another 120 suffered debilitating side effects why the UK government is wasting NHS resources and money on a vaccine that may save just 40 lives in the UK. Overall, an HPV vaccine may protect against 137 new cases of the cancer. Despite the publicity, especially following the death of Big Brother star Jade Goody, cervical cancer is a rare disease, and one that doesn't even feature in the list of the 10 most common cancers.

The Badger
Badger
 
A while ago I was cycling home late evening down a cycle path near my home when I could hear something running behind me.  I though that it must have been a very large dog because I could hear and feel the vibration as it ran.  It actually drew level and then overtook me and dived under the fence to an area behind a factory.  I was a little surprised when I saw it was a badger!  Such power went with it as it ran.  My boys laughed when I told them and said I don't ride very fast so it was easy for the badger to out distance me.

In medieval times it was said that if a badger crossed behind you on the path you had walked it was good luck.  But... if it passed in front of you, it was bad luck.  For REALLY bad luck, if it stopped and scratched the earth on the path in front of you, that you were bound to die soon.  Thought about this and although I wasn't walking the badger was running behind me on the left hand side and crossed to the right before it vanished under the fence so I will definitely take that as good luck.  However please do not trouble yourself TOO much if a badger stops and scratches the earth on the path in front of you unless of course you are about to kill it. 
 
Many years ago when I lived in the country I hit a badger as I drove home and I was very upset.  I told my first husband and he went immediately to the spot but I had obviously just stunned it as there was no blood and had gone on its way. I would have hated it if I had been responsible for killing one of these creatures.
