Greetings!

Well the 13th Festival of Light was last Saturday and all went very well indeed, the Ballroom is such a wonderful venue for the Festival.  I have decided to hire another suite as well from September onwards to house the workshops and presentations.  This will solve two issues, the acoustics in the ballroom have been a bit of a problem despite the screens this time, and it will release more space which we will require next time as this Festival continues to grow.

The 14th and last one this year will be on Saturday 22nd September.  Hope to see some of you there.

I am facilitating an Aura Reading, Crystal & Colour workshop on Saturday 14th July, there are a few places available if you are interested.  Further details below.

Don't forget the Newsletter Archive with a link from each of my websites. http://www.drelizabethanndiamond.com

Chinese Hand Carved Jade Pendants

Chinese Jade Pendants

I have some very nice Chinese hand carved jade pendants, selling from £1.50 to £7.50. Most are copies of ancient carvings. I am often asked about one of the pendants which has a circle of bats around the outer edge.

Chinese mythology sheds a positive light on the bats. They viewed them as a symbol of good luck. Both the Apache and Cherokee Indian tribes also enjoyed the bats and viewed their presence as a symbol that something good was about to happen. The mystery of creation is often explored in such mythology, and the bat is certainly a creature that is quite mysterious. It is unlike anything else due to the unique habits and physical appearance of it.  The bat pendant is second row down second from the left.

My Amazon Kindle Books

The following eBooks that I have put together are all available on Amazon Kindle.  Most are either $1.23 or 77p.  Those with the asterisk are $3.07 and £1.92 The UK price is governed by the dollar exchange rate so can fluctuate a little. I made the decision to price them very reasonably so they were accessible to all preferring to sell lots for a little rather than at a premium rate.  You don't need a Kindle as you can download to your PC and Amazon gives you the software immediately to do this. I was offering all  these as eCourses and those who have bought them can still return your coursework to gain your Continued Professional Development (CPD) Point certificates.  If any of you still wish to do any eCourses just contact me and we can arrange this.

I have reduced the price of the Nutritional Medicine, What are you 'Weighting' for?  and Diabetes Mellitus Type 11, Kindle  eBooks to make them available to as many people as possible.

I decided to grow trailing Nasturtiums in my hanging baskets this year.
They are doing brilliantly and I love the colours of the flowers, you can eat the flowers, leaves and seeds but they do have a strong 'peppery' taste.
I took the photo today so the flowers are a bit wet!

Watercress - Nasturtium officinale

NasturtiumsA Modern Herbal by Margaret Grieve 1931

Family: N.O. Cruciferae

Parts Used    Leaves, flowers, seeds.
Habitat           Europe and Russian Asia.

Description  A hardy perennial found in abundance near springs and open running watercourses, of a creeping habit with smooth, shining, brownish-green, pinnatifid leaves and ovate, heart-shaped leaflets, the terminal one being larger than the rest. Flowers small and white, produced towards the extremity of the branches in a sort of terminal panicle.

The true nasturtium or Indian Cress cultivated in gardens as a creeper has brilliant orange-red flowers and produces the seeds which serve as a substitute for capers in pickles.

The poisonous Marshwort or 'Fool's Cress' is often mistaken for Watercress, with which it is sometimes found growing. It may readily be distinguished by its hemlock-like white flowers, and when out of flower, by its finely toothed and somewhat pointed leaves, much longer than those of the watercress and of a paler green. The Latin name 'Nasturtium' is derived from the words nasus tortus (a convulsed nose) on account of its pungency.

Constituents            A sulpho-nitrogenous oil, iodine iron, phosphates, potash, with other mineral salts, bitter extract and water. Its volatile oil rich in nitrogen combined with some sulphur in the sulpho-cyanide of allyl.

Medicinal Action and Uses          Watercress is particularly valuable for its antiscorbutic qualities and has been used as such from the earliest times. As a salad it promotes appetite. Culpepper says that the leaves bruised or the juice will free the face from blotches, spots and blemishes, when applied as a lotion.

Dosage         Expressed juice, 1 to 2 fluid ounces.

Watercress has also been used as a specific in tuberculosis. Its active principles are said to be at their best when the plant is in flower.

Healing Visualisation & Regression CDs

The Healing Visualisation CD is a 36 minute focus on the body and it's main systems, lungs, heart, arteries, veins, lymphatics, skeleton, nervous system, digestive and eliminative sytems, ending in a very healing & peaceful space. The new Regression CD is now  more than 46 minutes long. I will have these in Weston-super-Mare and Glastonbury or you can purchase online. http://www.drelizabethanndiamond.com

Afterglow

I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one.

I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.

I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,

Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.

I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun;

Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
