I Still Live
Be not afraid we've not said goodbye,
I've told you so often, we cannot die,
My presence around, you will always feel.
Not as a thought, but a spirit that's real.
I passed through the gateway of which I knew
It was made of pure gold, with a background of blue
The gate wasn't closed like I thought it would be,
Its arms were wide open welcoming me.
I walked straight through the gate, to this angel sphere,
To be greeted by many I've always held dear,
They led me to this wonderful place,
A beautiful garden to rest in Gods grace.
After a while my spirit is strong
I will take up my work with the band I belong,
That gentle true healing I practiced in life,
Will be given again to you, my dear wife.
In dreams you will travel with me it's not far.
My love light will guide you and I'll be your star
We can sit 'neath a rainbow its colours I'll touch
To blend with the healing that you need so much
And now as you wait for me to return
Help each of our children, and if their hearts burn,
When they look at that now empty chair
Where their father once sat, tell them I'm there.
I was your strength, now you must be mine
I want you to be happy all of the time
Cherish all memories both the good and the bad
For our lives were enriched, by the happy and sad.
I've no regrets for the body now gone
It served my purpose till my work was done
My sight is restored my vision extended
Life truly has started don't think it has ended.
Remember on seeing those flowers you cried
I know that you did, I was there by your side.
And always will be. This promise is true.
To each of my family, because I love you.
Note: I have no idea who wrote this, I found a typed copy in the back of a huge second hand book I bought years ago called Wild Flowers of the World.
