| Greetings!
The 6th Free Festival of Light, previously the Healing Event took place on 17th April and was a wonderful day. Around 500 people came through the doors in a steady flow from the time we opened until the time we closed. The extra suite was well used. All space has been taken for September and I am working on the program of presentations right now.
I am offering two more free Sacred Geometry workshops for anyone who purchases the kit, on Saturdays 15th May & 3rd July, see below.

It is Full Moon on Wednesday and Beltane on Friday. For me this means that my garden really springs into life and I will be very busy hacking back greenery so that my garden does not turn into an impenetrable jungle.

Beltane - 30th April | |
Probably the oldest and most important festival, nature is blooming and everyone feels the stirrings of vitality and more! Quickly followed by the maypole on the 1st May. Dowsers can often detect the patterns of energy where the dancers trod. In my infant school we had a maypole that was erected in the middle of the assembly room and we danced with the ribbons around it. I have to say that many years later when my youngest son attended the same school I realised that dancing round a maypole inside was not correct at all, especially in a school! Maypoles are for outside use.
I have a great interest in colour and the following is of considerable interest to me. The white red and blue of the ribbons echo the the colours of the Triple Goddess. White for the Maiden, Red for the Mother and Blue or Black for the Crone, Oh Boy I know which one I am now! It is said that the maiden is Maid Marion, greenwood goddess of the deer, the hare, the secret and the fertile places of the forest. Her consort Robin Hood is also the Green Man or Pan - the spirit of lawless nature itself.

Nettles
The Nettle tribe, Urticaceae, is widely spread over the world and contains about 500 species, mainly tropical, though several, like our common Stinging Nettle, occur widely in temperate climates. Many of the species have stinging hairs on their stems and leaves. Two genera are represented in the British Isles, Urtica, the Stinging Nettles, and Parietaria, the Pellitory. The British species of Stinging Nettle, belonging to the genus Urtica (the name derived from the Latin, uro, to burn), are well known for the burning properties of the fluid contained in the stinging hairs with which the leaves are so well armed. Painful as are the consequences of touching one of our common Nettles. Nettle is anti-asthmatic: the juice of the roots or leaves, mixed with honey or sugar, will relieve bronchial and asthmatic troubles and the dried leaves, burnt and inhaled, will have the same effect. The seeds have also been used in consumption, the infusion of herb or seeds being taken in wineglassful doses. The seeds and flowers used to be given in wine as a remedy for ague. The powdered seeds have been considered a cure for goitre and efficacious in reducing excessive corpulency. |

Footprints
One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. Each scene, he noticed had two sets of footprints in the sand, one belonging to him, and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times of his life.
This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me."
The Lord replied, "My precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you. | |
