| Greetings!
In one of those spur of the moment transformations, which are so exciting I discovered a massive burning desire to study herbal medicine. So I am now immersed in study with a practicing medical herbalist as my tutor to learn all that I can. I have had a great interest in Herbs for over 40 years and have been growing and using them during that time. I've already done a full year at a horticultural college focusing on herbs, for all purposes. I grew up on a market garden and then a farm which had acres of land set aside for growing fruit, vegetables, flowers and livestock. Because of my interest a large part of my naturopathic studies concerning nutritional medicine included herbs and spices. So now I am focusing on Western medicinal herbs.I know this is what I have been working towards for all my life. This was all sparked off after attending a 10 week bushcraft course. I loved it so much I volunteered to help the next intake of participants. After another day foraging for wild food, my passion was re-awakened sparking this thirst for more knowledge. I've included a little about the dandelion below. |

 I will be at the Mystic & Earth Spirit Fayre on Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th March. I am offering short Iridology consultations @ £20. I can give out life changing information in less than 30 minutes. I work at every level as required, Mind, Body & Spirit. The venue is The Assembly Rooms, High Street, Glastonbury, Somerset and the entry cost is just £1. These Fayres will also take place in Bath starting in April, I have booked for all in 2010 and will offer Naturopathic Iridology consultations there also. Plus a couple of dedicated workshops in Weston-super-Mare.

The Dandelion is a Valuable Medical Herb
I decided to start studying medical herbs with one of my life time favourites the Dandelion. Every part of the dandelion is used in herbal medicine. The flower heads contain antioxidants and are used to make cough syrup. The Dandelion has a long history. Early colonists brought it to North America, where indigenous people saw its value and used it for its medical and nutritional benefits. Dandelion leaves and roots have been used for centuries to treat liver, gall bladder, kidney, and joint problems. In some countries, Dandelion is considered a blood purifier and is used for ailments such as eczema and cancer. Dandelion has also been used to treat poor digestion, water retention, and diseases of the liver such as hepatitis. The first mention of the Dandelion as a medicine is in the works of Arabian physicians of the tenth and eleventh centuries. Thirteenth-century Welsh medicine lauds its properties.

| THE TALE OF THE TINY FROG from an email sent to me

Once upon a time there was a bunch of tiny frogs.... who arranged a running competition.
The goal was to reach the top of a very high tower.
A big crowd had gathered around the tower to see the race and cheer on the contestants....
The race began....
Honestly:
No one in the crowd really believed that the tiny frogs would reach the top of the tower.
You heard statements such as:
"Oh, WAY too difficult!!"
"They will NEVER make it to the top."
or:
"Not a chance that they will succeed. The tower is too high!"
The tiny frogs began collapsing. One by one....
Except for those, who in a fresh tempo, were climbing higher and higher....
The crowd continued to yell, "It is too difficult!!! No one will make it!"
More tiny frogs got tired and gave up....
But ONE continued higher and higher and higher....
This one wouldn't give up!
At the end everyone else had given up climbing the tower. Except for the one tiny frog who, after a big effort, was the only one who reached the top!
THEN all of the other tiny frogs naturally wanted to know how this one frog managed to do it?
A contestant asked the tiny frog how he had found the strength to succeed and reach the goal?
It turned out....
That the winner was DEAF!!!!
The wisdom of this story is:
Never listen to other people's tendencies to be
negative or pessimistic.... because they take your most wonderful dreams and wishes away from you -- the ones you have in your heart!
Always think of the power words have.
Because everything you hear and read will affect your actions!
Therefore:
ALWAYS be....
POSITIVE!
And above all:
Be DEAF when people tell YOU that you cannot fulfil your dreams! | |
