It takes the entire community working together to recover from a natural or man-made disaster.
In preparation for hurricane season, United Way of Volusia-Flagler Counties' Volunteer Center (UWVFCVC) is conducting a mock disaster exercise Saturday, June 12th, beginning at 9am at the United Way office.
The purpose of the training exercise is to set up a mock volunteer reception center and walk-through the steps of registering unaffiliated volunteers who would come to Volusia County offering help following a disaster. This drill is largely intended to allow disaster volunteers to practice the process and will also identify areas where UWVFCVC can enhance procedures.
