Almost September? No way

Gearing up for September means more than shopping.

With your energy renewed after a holiday, you might be thinking about new ways of connecting with the people who are important to your business. Or maybe your adrenaline is pushing you to get cracking on those objectives you set for 2010.

An email newsletter could be a great way for you to reach out or reach goals. Consider the examples of two of our clients, the Arthritis Society, a large nonprofit, and Voice Power, a small local business with big plans.

The big
The Arthritis Society is kicking off Arthritis Awareness month with a national email newsletter and several versions in English and French. The move from print will save money and trees while enabling more frequent communication with patients, donors and volunteers.

What’s more, director Pat Chapman’s decision to go with unique versions for different regions lets this organization speak directly to regional audiences while building its national brand.

The small
For Voice Power owner Lynn Woodman, her first newsletter is primarily intended to fill seats in her September courses in accent reduction and fearless presenting. She also wants to build her reputation and stay in touch with the many people she’s met.

She would like to make new friends too, so we’re recycling the newsletter content into a blog post and advising on social media links.

These are just two of the many ways an email newsletter and related writing can help. To chat about your situation, contact me at 416-690-0968 or barb@stickycommunication.ca.

Do-it-yourself
If you’re one of the many people who wants to write their own newsletter, blog or other communication, check out my ebook Write like you talk—only better, 3 steps to turn good talkers into great writers. You and your friends can save $10 off the $30 purchase price by using the coupon number Sticky1.

Stickemail returns
Over the past few months, you received Quickemail, short newsletters to promote my ebook. I’m going back to Stickemail, which provides more education on communication and writing and less marketing.

If you'd like to learn how to avoid the most frequent grammar mistakes, the silly ones that can make you look stupid or more difficult to understand, check out the posts I've updated and moved from my old site plus some material that still has that new-post smell.

If you’re one of the friends I added to the Quickemail list, but you are not interested in learning more about communication and writing, click the unsubscribe link at the top. Don’t worry. I will not take it personally.

We all need less irrelevant and more valuable mail in our inboxes.
