Greetings!
With March Madness approaching I thought is would be good to talk about slam dunks.  That is the slam dunks in choices of advertising these days.

Take a look at some of the bay's top businesses with great brand awareness and I am willing to bet that you will see an advertiser that uses radio as a staple in their marketing.  Radio Works!  For small to medium size business to be effective on radio there are some rules you must stick too. 
 
1. Have a clear message and only have "ONE" clear message 
    - Too many advertisers try to use a :30 or :60 second message to deliver two, three, sometimes even four different messages.  Listeners only retain small portions, so keep the message tight.
 
2. Create a mental picture in the minds of the listeners that illustrates the "benefits" of doing business with you.
     - Just saying your the best at what you do will not cut it these days.  People are skeptical.  "Prove" your the best by telling listeners what benefit they recieve by doing business with you.
 
3. Only buy the "right" station(s) that has listeners that will buy your product and/or service.
     - Make sure that every dollar you are spending on a radio station is hitting the core of your "buying" audience.  Sometimes that best station is not your personal favorite station.  Find out which station(s) are local, live, and relevant.
