Deliver the Dream is thrilled that Bank of America chose us this year as one of the eight non profits that will be participating in Bank of America's Starlight Musicals!

Linda Nadler is the President Elect of our Dream Team Auxiliary. She first heard about the organization from her close friend and our Executive Director Paul Withrow. At first she didn't know how she would give back, she just knew she had to. She has been coming to our annual Denim & Diamonds Gala for five years, but once she found out about our new Dream Team auxiliary she knew it was exactly where she wanted to focus her volunteer  time. 

Linda's sister Randee has Down Syndrome and Linda wishes that when they were growing up there had been an organization like Deliver the Dream. There was nothing like this for them and as a child she felt embarrassed and had trouble coping.  "It has been a lonely world for her... and for me," she said. "We had no support system. Things of course have changed over the years but Deliver the Dream is a godsend for families now" 

Next year, Deliver the Dream will host a retreat for families who have a family member with Down Syndrome and both Linda and her sister are ecstatic! They can't wait to meet other families, to gain support from them  and get a little TLC.

Linda is also one of the ladies spearheading the Community Champions events and she's excited to change people's perceptions of what a "champion" is. "A champion can mean different things and a person doesn't have to be a CEO to be a champion, they could just have a way of making people smile and bringing happiness to others," she said.  

We're so happy and pleased to announce that our Dream Team Auxiliary has branched out and created a West coast branch in Sarasota!

The Sarasota Dream Team's first meeting was in June.

Thank you to everyone who attended. We're looking forward to raising money for a retreat to benefit Sarasota families, raising awareness in the community and recruiting volunteers from Sarasota.   

The group's next meeting will be Monday, August 8  at the 100 Central meeting room in Sarasota.

On June 27 the Community Champions event hosted the kick off party to introduce the champions and get everyone excited for the debut of this annual event!

Set to honor champions who are not only successful in their professions but also in giving back to our community, the evening presented by AutoNation will take place on Thursday, September 15 at 6pm at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa in Ft. Lauderdale. The evening will center around a "generations" theme where people from  different backgrounds, ages and professions will be celebrated and congratulated for raising funds our retreats.

Our toy drive continues to grow so thank you to everyone who has donated to us thus far.
