2009 RACE DATES

2008 was a great year, but the best part of adventure race organizing is the excitement that comes from offering totally unique race experiences each season, by exploring new areas and creating new course designs. To that end, Storm Racing and Hark Events have already finalized their 2009 race schedule, and it looks like this:

Storm the Trent - Saturday May 9, 2009
The eighth annual Storm-ing of the Trent will feature an all-new host region, an amazing new lakeside venue and three brand-new racecourses. It will also feature the return of our traditional straight-time (ie. not points-based) race format!

ESAR - Saturday June 13, 2009
The seventh edition of the Emergency Services Adventure Race will also be staged on all-new ground in 2009, and will continue to feature both the regular ESAR, as well as the more compact "ESAR-Lite" race courses from one amazing host site!

Saucony RockstAR - Saturday July 25, 2009
This year's most innovative, creative, and all-out FUN race format will be back, and we will (we will) rock you once again! If you didn't make it out to the Bark Lake Leadership Centre this past July, be sure to make this awesome race experience a must-do for 2009!  Watch for details on a new short-course option to be announced over the coming months!

Storm the Ten - Saturday September 19, 2009
Entering only its second year on the multi-sport race calendar, "the Ten" saw 35% growth in participation over last year, and in 2009 we will continue to build this unique new race format into a signature Fall Classic event for adventure sport enthusiasts. Watch for new pics and video to be posted soon!

Don't forget - Canada's largest night trail running events take place next week on Friday October 17th, and then again on Friday October 24th in Oakville and Vaughan.  All of the Hark Events & Storm Racing regular crew will be out in full force to create some more Halloween-themed fun on the trails - hope to see you there!  Check out all the details at www.trekortreat.ca

SALOMON RAID THE HAMMER
The ultimate end-of-season event (and one of my personal favorites) is coming up on Sunday November 9th, and as always it promises to be chock-full of adventure running fun!  Salomon Raid the Hammer features both 10k and 25k route options for teams of three, as well as a ton of always-creative ways to test your navigation skills and to experience some incredible land features you might not expect to see in southern Ontario.  Check it out at  www.dontgetlost.ca/raid/hammer.htm

Looking forward to seeing you again in 2009!
