| Support
Solar Oregon by Choosing Clean Power By
Diane Zipper - Renewable Northwest Project
We understand that some
of solar energy's biggest fans have a hard time making it
work. If you rent or lease your home or business space, you
may not have the authority to put up solar panels or invest in a solar
hot water heater. Maybe the costs are too high to commit to
right now, or there's a beautiful shade tree blocking the
sun's rays. Whatever the reason, you can still
support clean energy and Solar Oregon by signing up for green power.

Solar Professional Member Electron Connection, Inc. Bob-O Schultze

| A
professional member
of Solar Oregon and owner of Electron Connection, Inc., which offers
load analysis, site survey, system design, sales, installation, user
training, |
and tech support services for residential and commercial
solar and micro-hydro systems, and residential wind turbine systems.
What first
drove you to solar energy?
I was living off-grid in a beautiful place in northernmost California
called Salmon River and I didn't want to run a noisy, fossil
fuel-guzzling generator for power. Micro-hydro and solar were the
perfect solutions. >>Click

| Net
Zero on Wheels! By
Christopher Luttkus - Solar Oregon Board Member
100-mile range all-electric cars
are here, and more are coming. While these cars have a
smaller range than a tank of gas and traditional internal combustion
engine (ICE), they possess more than enough range for 80% of our
driving needs. The Ford Focus, Mitsubishi iMEV and Nissan
Leaf are recent examples of all electric vehicles being mass produced
right now. These cars can be fully charged at home in 6 hours
on the same type of circuit used to run your washer and dryer.

Solar Now! is expanding its reach by inviting motivated
communities from northern, eastern and central Oregon to become a part
of our outreach efforts. We want to help passionate volunteers,
organizational leaders, municipalities and solar champions like

Goal Net Zero Interest Group
This month Dan
Weldon and Mark Pengilly will discuss the latest
immensely popular incentive for solar - the Feed In Tariff. The Oregon
Feed In Tariff is a new incentive model that differs from the European
model and reduces some of the typical restrictions of net metering
policies. The next phase of this Oregon incentive program is opening
for applications in October. Learn how it works, how much it pays, what
kind of rate of return your investment will provide, and compare it to
other incentive programs.
