PLANT OF THE MONTH
Mimulus PuniceusRed Monkey Flower

This Monkeyflower has stunning red flowers on dark red stems that continue blooming through spring and into summer. It is drought tolerant and a profuse bloomer that can be useful in almost any garden situation. Pinch back to encourage more blooms and give this cheerful plant some partial shade in hot inland sites. Monkeyflowers are attractive to both butterflies and hummingbirds. For best appearance cut back aggressively after flowering.
Every purchase of our "Plant of the Month" at our retail nursery partners will generate a $0.50 donation to PLANT WITH PURPOSE to help poor villages in third world economies restore farms, plant trees and create local jobs. |
