Eddie Coker in Concert
Eddie Coker and some of the children dancing it out
Do your kids love to sing and dance?  Why, yes they do! On Saturday, March 31st, 2012, Eddie came, the kids rehearsed and we conquered!! The Performers, along with staff and audience members, blew the roof off Fellowship Bible Church Dallas dancing and singing to many Eddie Coker favorites which included,
"Say Hello", "Interaction", and "The Woo-Woo Dance". The concert ended with a beautiful performance of "I Believe", written especially for Rainbow Days by Eddie following a dream he had. During this special song the children handed out homemade hearts, with handwritten Major Messages like ... "I AM amazing", "I CAN make the world a better place", "I HAVE hope", "I WILL graduate from college", and "I BELIEVE in my dreams". Thank you Eddie, the child performers, FBC Dallas, and the faithful audience for helping to celebrate Rainbow Days' 30th Anniversary through this awesome concert!

Citi
CitiRainbow Days is pleased to announce a $20,000 check from Citi in support of the Family Connection program for Learning Tool Kits.  These kits contain multiple age appropriate developmental and fun activities for homeless children to do with their families.  This encourages family bonding through activities like a learning wheel, games and crafts.  We will be creating 1000 Learning Tool Kits to be distributed twice a year.  Your generosity and kindness will help inspire and change the lives of the children we serve.

Easter Eggstravaganza
Rosie - volunteer at Easter EGGstravaganza
Over 500 local children and parents impacted by homelessness participated in this year's 20th annual Easter Eggstraganza event at Park Lane Ranch.  Spring-time activities included an Easter egg hunt, miniature golf, Pin the Tail on the Rabbit, petting zoo, photo booth, arts & crafts, carnival games, karaoke and team sports.  The annual event  provides families time away from the shelter to focus on quality time together and just some plain old fashion "fun".

A special thank you to: Captain Hopes' Kids for their donations of Easter baskets, Easter eggs and teen basket supplies; Kids in Distressed Situations for the generous donations of clothing and toys; Mary Kay, Inc. for their wonderful donation of Mary Kay bags for the parents attending the event that were filled to the brim  with  "pampering goodies"; Rosie the dog and Michele Danches for their unconditional love and support; and Nieman Marcus-North Park for their annual donation of 5,000 Easter eggs. We'd also like to thank Mars Candy, Citigroup, Sigma Lambda Alpha Sorority, Inc., National Charity League-Golden Corridor Chapter and Preston Bluebonnet Chapter, the Dallas Police Department, Mosaic Family Services, Taco Cabana - Jim Rodriguez Regional Catering Manager, Cowboy Bob and Sally, and Southlake-Lake Trails Girl Scout Community & Girl Scout Troop #4032, and Park Lane Ranch. And, last but not least thanks to the individual and group volunteers who gave so tirelessly of their time to make this event a huge success we sincerely say; "Thank-you!" We couldn't have done it without you!
