On April 8th, 2011, over 430 guests gathered to make the 14th annual Pot of Gold Luncheon presented by AT&T a success by raising over $135,000 in support of Rainbow Days' programs and services. Rainbow Days' positive and life-changing impact was made evident through the performances of our program participants, testimonials, honoring our long-standing partnership with the University of Texas at Dallas and the generous support and enthusiasm of our guests.
Jennifer Bishop, Luncheon Co-Chair speaks of her personal dedication to Rainbow Days, "I've always believed it is important to make a positive difference in children's lives because that is the key to making positive changes in our society, and Rainbow Days is certainly making positive changes in the lives of Dallas' at-risk children."

| Easter Eggstravaganza | | |
Over 500 local children and parents impacted by homelessness participated in this year's 19th annual Easter Eggstravaganza event at Park Lane Ranch. Easter Eggstravaganza is a family outing provided for families away from the shelter with an assortment of spring-time fun activities including an Easter egg hunt, miniature golf, arts & crafts, carnival games, karaoke and team sports.
A special thank you to: Kids in Distressed Situations for their generous donation of clothing and toys; Captain Hope's Kids for their donation of Easter eggs and baskets; Neiman Marcus-North Park for their donation of 4,000 eggs; AT&T Finance who gave 1,200 eggs used for the Easter egg hunt and prizes; Frito Lay for their donation of chips for the baskets; and Mars because the Easter baskets wouldn't have been complete without candy; and The Girl Scouts troop #4031 for providing handmade cards for each child.
To the dedicated people who helped with activities at the event and provided programing we would like to thank: The City of Dallas, (Mayor and Council Office) Connie Sanchez, Council Secretary to Councilmember Angela Hunt; Gaytha Davis , Special Events Coordinator/Intern Manager; and
 Councilwoman Delia Jasso-District 1 and her staff (Mariza and Elsa) for allowing Gina the Giraffe to make her debut at the event. Special thanks to Councilmember Ann Margolin, District 13, for her opening remarks and support of the event and her assistant Clinton Lawrence who attended the planning meetings. Additional support was provided by the Dallas Police Department who provide finger printing and "McGruff The Crime Dog" and theDallas Fire Department who provided "Sparky" to teach the children about fire prevention. The National Charity League also deserves mention -Golden Corridor Chapter & Preston Bluebonnet Chapter who provided eggs, crafts, homemade cupcakes and volunteers for the event. A special attraction this year was the team sports provided by over 30 Woodrow Wilson High school students, dressed in their uniforms, provided one-on-one and group games for the homeless children during the event. Principal Henderson and Coach Estes from Woodrow Wilson provided the children with opportunities to run drills and experience high school sports in all its facets.
We also want to thank the individual and group volunteers (over 120!), who gave so tirelessly of their time to make this event a huge success. The groups included the National Charity League - Golden Corridor Chapter & Preston Bluebonnet Chapter, Captain Hope's Kids, AT&T, Frito Lay, Kids in Distressed Situations, Sigma Phi Chi Sorority from Austin College and Neiman Marcus. |

Rainbow Days is grateful for the Carl B. & Florence E. King Foundation's continued support of Rainbow Days through their recent grant of $20,000 in program support of Family Connection. The Carl B. & Florence E. King Foundation has had a remarkable impact on numerous nonprofit organizations in the Dallas area. Through their generous gifts to organizations addressing the Aging population; Arts, culture, and history; Children and youth; Education; the Indigent and strengthening overall Nonprofit capacity, the Foundation has literally touched thousands of lives over the last 45 years. Rainbow Days would like to thank the Citi Foundation for its generous grant of $10,000 for the Family Connection program. The Citi Foundation is committed to the economic empowerment and financial inclusion of individuals, families, and communities in the areas where we work so that they can improve their standard of living.
This grant will go to the 1,300 children Rainbow Days serves through the Family Connection program, offering them hope for a promising future. We are so grateful for Citi's continual support of Rainbow Days and the children we serve.

Thank you to the Dirk Nowitzki Foundation for a very generous donation of $10,000!
Dirk Nowitzki is not just a star Mavericks basketball player. He is an individual who truly understands the meaning of giving back. He states: "With my experiences in sports, I learned that you have to work hard to reach your goal. But many children around the world need help to even have a chance to enhance their lives and to realize their dreams. With the Dirk Nowitzki Foundation I want to help provide education, health and well being for these children and to make a difference in their lives."
This donation will truly make a difference in the lives of Rainbow Days' children.

| Life without Drugs Rocks | |
On April 12th 20 youth from Anita Martinez Recreation Center decorated their own foam guitars because Life Rocks Without Drugs. The youth picked their favorite songs and made their own drug-free lyrics for the song's main verse. The youth were proud of their unique and varied guitars and song lyrics and eager to share with one another.

| Walk Out Drugs | | |
Students at Pinkston High School will Walk Out Drugs as they do their best swagger, dance and/or walk across the auditorium stage in front of their fellow peers to some of today's popular pop songs. Unk's song, Walk It Out, will be the primary verse to open and close the activity. The activity will engage participants in activities that promote peer bonding and expose students to safe, fun alternatives to drug use.
