United Way Campaign Kick-Off
As the United Way Campaign swings into full gear, we would like to thank all of the generous donors who give to United Way.  We also want to encourage you to "spread the word" at your workplace about the good work that United Way is doing in our community.  Your gift can be designated to the Community Fund, to a specific United Way Partner Agency or to one of the Special Initiatives.  By giving to United Way, you are helping to support and strengthen our community as we all "Live United".  As one of the proud partner agencies of United Way, we thank you for your ongoing support!

Board Spotlight: Laurie Morgan
Laurie MorganLaurie Morgan was introduced to Rainbow Days in the spring of 2007 when a co-worker invited her to attend an Our Children's Future Luncheon.  Shortly thereafter she was approached by then board member Jim Winblood about joining the board and became an official board member that same summer.  From the beginning Rainbow Days sounded like an organization that Laurie wanted to be a part of.  "I've done other volunteer work with special needs kids and underprivileged kids so this seemed like a perfect fit for me.  Then the more I learned about Rainbow Days the more I fell in love with what this organization does," says Morgan.

In December of 2007 Laurie and her then fiancée attended Rainbow Days' Annual "Saturday with Santa" event.  After the movie Laurie remembers helping hand out stockings stuffed with presents for the children and one child in particular asked her if he got to keep it.  "The look on his face when I told him that it was a gift and his to keep melted my heart," exclaimed Morgan.  With their first child on the way, Laurie and her husband are looking forward to introducing their children to these experiences as well.

It is Laurie's hope that she can help attract and educate even more people to Rainbow Days to become involved on a deeper level.  "Everyone is intrigued by what Rainbow Days does, I hope I can help them see the amazing benefit of Rainbow Days in the lives of children so that even more people will get involved," says Morgan.  "Rainbow Days provides these kids with so much more than drug and alcohol prevention education; they are in the business of changing kids lives and helping to shape them into individuals who can see their true potential and aren't inhibited by the obstacles currently in their lives," concluded Morgan.
