Mayor Leppert Speaks at Kids' University
Over 170 children from Dallas area homeless shelters have gathered the past two weeks for Rainbow Days' special Kids' University Camp, held at the University of Texas at Dallas.  Children enjoyed a week of fun-filled classes and activities on the college campus, all facilitated by Rainbow Days' staff and volunteers. Some of the classes and activities included: art, dance, safety, and drug prevention.

Dr. George Fair, UT Dallas and Mayor Tom Leppert

The week concluded with a special graduation ceremony where the children were able to walk across the stage in a cap and gown to receive their diploma.  Rainbow Days was pleased to have Dallas City Mayor Tom Leppert as the commencement speaker during week 1 of the graduation ceremonies and long-time supporter, Todd Whitthorne as our week 2 commencement speaker. The children enjoyed shaking hands with the Mayor when they received their diploma and hearing his inspiring speech about believing in themselves and in their dreams.   Special thanks to Mayor Tom Leppert and Mr. Todd Whitthorne  for their time and support! Rainbow Days is grateful to Dr. George Fair and UT Dallas as well as all of the generous supporters & volunteers who make this camp possible each year!

Hawaii Paradise Art with a Heart
This past spring, twenty-three children from Reconciliation Outreach enjoyed a fun-filled day of arts and crafts at the Timberglenn Library with Rainbow Days staff, volunteers, and members of Girl Scout Troop 2298.  The day consisted of the children crafting Hawaiian-themed art projects (which they enjoyed immensely!), and a real-life magician, who gave a special performance with each child being able to take home their own trick!  Breakfast and lunch were both provided by the Girl Scouts.
