1000 Homes Celebration!
In Colorado, Habitat for Humanity has much to celebrate. Together with volunteers, partner families, staff, and community support we have built 1000 homes over the last 30 years!
This fall, we launch our 1000 homes campaign, to build 1000 homes both in Colorado and internationally in only 3 years. Our theme is There's No Place Like Home and Habitat Colorado donors who give $1000 will receive a yellow brick as a thank you for helping to pave the way for 4,000 more individuals to have simple, decent, affordable homes. HFHC hopes to raise $1,000,000 in new investments throughout the course of the campaign. People like you will be asked to donate, volunteer and spread the word about affordable housing in their communities. Habitat challenges affiliates and supporters to meet this goal, because There's No Place Like Home.

| Want to Make Money When People Use Gift Cards to Make Every Day Purchases? |
|
Your affiliate could make 2-8% from the sales of your supporters' everyday purchases through your own Serve Nation online gift card store!
After you have set up your affiliate's own online store with the help of Serve Nation's staff, your donors, volunteers, staff and board members will be able to purchase gift cards to retailers that they buy from on a regular basis. A wide variety of retailers such as Safeway and King Soopers grocery stores and gas stations, Starbucks, McDonalds, Chili's, and Sears will donate 2-8% of the sales generated through the gift card sales to your affiliate - with NO EXTRA CHARGE to the gift card customers. There are hundreds of gift cards to choose from. The cards you purchase will be shipped to you at no cost. You will receive them within days. Your affiliate will then receive regular payments from Serve Nation for the cards purchased on your online store. If you are interested in creating a Serve Nation store for your Habitat affiliate, please contact Marty Thompson at 970-412-8242 or at mthompson@servenation.com. |

Want $10,000 for an Innovative Energy Efficiency Project?
In August, we announced that Xcel Energy had awarded HFHC $15,000 to be used for energy efficient construction. As Energy Outreach Colorado already gives money for energy efficient upgrades, the Xcel Foundation money will be given to affiliates through a competitive application process to fund innovative energy efficient construction. The money will be awarded in $2,000-$10,000 increments for projects such as solar hot water heaters, PVs, alternative construction methods, or other green construction projects.
All 31 Colorado affiliates are eligible but you must already be implementing basic energy efficiency measures. Please contact Irene Perez Law at 303-454-8965 x2 or irene@habitatcolorado.org for more information. Proposals are due December 1, 2008. |
