CCS legal and policy - Mar / Apr 2011 - February saw the passing of the deadline for the submission to DECC of NER300 funding applications by prospective CCS Project Sponsors. Since the deadline a combination of press releases by some of the applicants plus announcements by DECC have produced an apparently clear picture of which protagonists are genuinely competing to develop the UK's first CCS projects. The report identifies 234 active or planned CCS projects ranging across technologies, project types and sectors at the end of 2010, a net increase of 21 projects since the previous year.
