Hyundai new FCEV - 403 mile range

- Hyundai has revealed its next generation fuel cell vehicle, the Tucson ix, which has a total range between refuelling of 403 miles, compared to 230 miles with the previous version. This means that the range is now equivalent to a gasoline vehicle. >>more

 

US DOE cuts hydrogen funding by $70m

- The US Department of Energy has announced that in its $29.5bn 2012 budget it will be reducing funding for the hydrogen technology program by over 40 per cent, or $70m, "in order to focus on technologies deployable at large scale in the near term." >>more

ACAL Energy platinum free fuel cell can cut system costs "by up to 40 per cent"

- The fuel cell developed by Acal Energy of Cheshire, UK, can cut system costs in mass production by up to 40 per cent while potentially increasing durability, according to an independent assessment by the UK's Carbon Trust, an organisation set up by the UK government. >>more

Air Products supplies mobile hydrogen fuelling to California lab

- Air Products has supplied a mobile hydrogen fuelling system to the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California, to power hydrogen shuttle buses to transport people around the laboratory site. >>more

 

Inova Power - hydrogen providing powder for cars

- Inova Power of County Durham, UK, is developing a powder made of an undisclosed material, which releases hydrogen when it comes into contact with water, according to local news reports. >>more

 

Shell to develop coal gasification technology in China

- Shell has announced a plan to work with Shanghai chemicals and coal giant Wison Group Holding Ltd, to develop a coal gasification technology demonstration plant in China. >>more
