'Blue belt' to reduce EU ship admin  
- The European Commission has launched a pilot project designed to reduce the administrative burden on the short sea shipping sector across the continent, through the creation of what it calls a 'blue belt'. >>more


Kongsberg in BC Ferries deal  
- Kongsberg has been awarded a contract by BC Ferries for the supply and installation of three Polaris ship bridge simulation systems to multiple sites in British Columbia, Canada. >>more


Engine manufacturers pursue technology development project  
- European marine engine manufacturers MAN Diesel & Turbo and Wärtsilä Corporation have agreed to pursue a joint research project, the HERCULES-C project, as a continuation of the original HERCULES programmes for the research and development of marine engine technology. >>more


CCS to provide USCG computers
 - CCS-Inc is to supply 250 marine computers to the United States Coast Guard (USCG), to power its Vega Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) on three classes of cutters and in training and simulation facilities. >>more
